Event - REFUEL at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca 07/01/12

I was braking very hard from ~80mph several times per lap and I notice some slight vibration since the event, so I think the rotors overheated and warped slightly. It's not enough to be a big issue, and I didn't get any brake fade during the event.

Event - REFUEL at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca 07/01/12

Here's our CarWings summary for Sunday, 45.7KWh in five partial fast charges, plus an L2 topup on the way home. Total was 51.2KWh consumed, 6.7KWh regen, 1.2KWh accessory

Event - REFUEL at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca 07/01/12

Hi Nader, I pushed the Traction Control button to turn it off before each run on the track and didn't feel any ESP cutting in. In normal mode it cuts power as soon as the car slides a bit, but I was able to drift the car a bit in turn 4 without noticing any ESP issues. What springs and shocks...

Event - REFUEL at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca 07/01/12

Here's my in-car video of the first practice session. We're the blue Leaf carrying #45, running Tein coilovers and Pirelli P7 summer tires, which worked quite well. I had fun chucking it through the corners more aggressively in the second session... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hR2PhiEmCuE"...

    SCCA Enduro Autocross pics

Here's the in-car video of my Leaf with Tein running AutoX at Santa Clara, CA (Great America parking lot) with the Lotus club last fall. http://youtu.be/SNpYI8ybgjQ After this I rotated the shredded front tires to the back :-) I'm going to switch to ES100 summer tires from the ES422 all...

Nissan ESFLOW Electric Coupe Concept : The official Thread

I hope Nissan does do a convertible or roadster version of the ESFLOW. That's the car we want. We currently own a Boxster, (not a Cayman!), as well as a Leaf.

    3 month maintenance notice

We just got a notice (from Broadwalk Nissan) saying that "since our Leaf had done 7500 miles it was time for a service", where they would rotate the tires and check that the suspension and driveshafts are OK. We have actually done about 4500 miles in four and a half months. We push the little...

SF BayLEAFs - e-NV200 Ride & Drives and Showcase May 28

One question that came up during the meeting is the release date of revenge of the electric car on DVD and Netflix streaming. The DVD release is Jan 24th 2012 and I will be able to give an update on the streaming release date nearer the time. It could be from the same date as DVD to a few months...

Nissan Engineering Team Visit Dec. 3rd: Recap

We upgraded the suspension on our leaf with the tein springs and dampers from Japan and its a much nicer drive. I think there should be a sporty option for the leaf with stiffer ride, heavier and more direct steering. EP100 summer tires and perhaps a bit more peak power remapped to accelerate...

SF BayLEAFs - e-NV200 Ride & Drives and Showcase May 28

Laurel and I plan to attend. We haven't made it to a Bayleaf meeting before. Our Leaf has the Tein suspension upgrade so look for a blue leaf thats a bit lower than usual if you want to check it out. We will give rides. Cheers Adrian

    Tein "Street Basis" coilovers

The rear settled a bit after the last update, was hitting the bump stops too often, so last night I took it back up an inch and it's much happier now. Measuring ~14.5" front and back from top of wheel arch to center of wheel now. The front settled half an inch but still seems ok, the back...

    Electric lawnmowers

I also have one of these 36V B&D electric mowers, good points are that its designed to be left plugged in to the charger. Some alternatives want you to come back and unplug it once its charged. The self powered drive works well and is independent of the cutting blade. They are heavy, so you need...

Elise spec: http://pistonheads.com/members/showcar.asp?carId=3519 What's the difference between Ecopia EP100 and EP422 in practice? Has anyone done back-to-back comparisons?

    Tein "Street Basis" coilovers

My Elise is probably as non-stock as you could get, but that's a discussion that belongs on another forum :-) We also have a 2009 Boxster S, I think the Tein-Leaf is about the same ride as default mode, but not as harsh as sport mode on the Boxster. I don't know if that helps anyone else know...

    Tein "Street Basis" coilovers

I didn't see any way to adjust the camber, I will get an alignment when I finish messing with the ride height. I will take the advice to use the shorter bump stops, put the rubber back in and set the rear slightly higher. I like the way the front is. I will set the height up a bit more, since...

    Tein "Street Basis" coilovers

The rear suspension is definitely running the bump stops too much, but we impressed a lot of people today, I was getting times that were better than other similar cars (Mazda 3, Audi A4), and within a few seconds of much more powerful sports cars. I ran our Lotus Elise a few times and got about...

    Tein "Street Basis" coilovers

The shipment arrived on Friday morning, I spent 3hrs Friday evening putting them on, no real problems. Didn't need a spring compressor to get the old springs off or the shorter ones on. I would need to use one to refit the old front springs I think. Special tools needed - 17 and 18mm deep...
