Modules and instructions for upgrading battery from 24-40 kwh?

One day soon I will unpack the goods and sort them out in sets. I didn't think this will be so heavy but of course, bottom plates are 3mm thick. Let's keep in touch.

Alibaba and even there it is quite expensive and it takes 2+ months to arrive.

Modules and instructions for upgrading battery from 24-40 kwh?

Great. Seline told me, that the friend ordered with her. I hope she gave you a good price for NEW cells not refurbished ones. I recently received custom insulating plates made from G1 material. Quite expensive but needed for ease of assembly and safety. If you need it, please let me know. I...

    VIVNE Leaf battery packs/modules

Copper on copper is OK and aluminium on aluminium is OK too. Just don't mix them. Nissan battery modules have copper contacts and copper bus bars. Chinese cells have aluminium terminals on which aluminium studs are laser welded or aluminium bus bars welded directly.

Thanks for your compliments. Yes, the compression plates are original. It is really well compressed, I hope not too much. 1. Size of the cells determine their orientation. Two pack at the back are facing each other with bolts to enclose all the bus bars and BMS wires and can be glued very well...

Modules and instructions for upgrading battery from 24-40 kwh?

Nice to hear from even more experienced engineer. I'm originally not in voltages higher then 12V and around 10A but I made an exception. I design and make my own electronic projects, one of them will be soon useful and it is SMS beekeeping scale which automatically weighs the hive and reports...

Modules and instructions for upgrading battery from 24-40 kwh?

Tightening torque is 10Nm with ordinary bolts and concentric spring washers. If you use bolts with ridges you need higher torque around 15Nm because the ridges of the bolts create braking force. I modified the cables "on the fly". I don't have yet a fixed process for that. I mark each contact...

This is even better. Here the cells are new but the LBC didn't yet adjust itself to them so the SOH and Hx are not realistic. Actually the cells were balanced to max 3mV but the BMS isn't as accurate as the battery testers.

Battery replacement for Nissan Leaf ZE0/AZE0/ZE1

That 50% is probably gone forever. Don't buy without any guarantee as Alibaba alwsys offers.

Yes and Starmax is good and trustworthy seller as much as I had business with them.

Modules and instructions for upgrading battery from 24-40 kwh?

There is only one metal L shaped profile added to stabilize the back pack in case of frontal collision. LH and RH stacks have 1.5mm galvanized metal added. Also I had to cut a bit of rear battery holder on the right side to guide the power cables thru. No metal parts of the modules was reused as...

Modules and instructions for upgrading battery from 24-40 kwh?

That was the first pack I rebuilt. After that I did a couple more and when you learn some stuff it gets a bit quicker. Now I would do it in a week with all the G10 materials already cut and ready. But I would not advise to do it yourself unless you REALLY know what you are doing. I'm an...

Sudden extreme battery charge loss while driving

Of course it is not normal. Nissan will tell you differently, but you must persist. They avoid battery replacement under warranty like a plague.

    VIVNE Leaf battery packs/modules

There is nothing wrong with aluminium bus bars. I use them also because the studs on the batteries are made of aluminium too. If you intend to use copper, it must be tinned or it will oxidize in contact with aluminium and this can cause all sorts of trouble. Also NMC cells don't need...

Sudden loss of battery on uphill grade

Maybe this will help. These batteries have serious issues sometimes starting quite early, usually after 100,000km or more. Usually replacing just a couple of modules doesn't make sense because it's expensive and not long lasting. You didn't state the mileage which is very important. In the...

    ABS fault - Testing/checking?

In my case it was just a poor contact on the pressure sensor. I used some Nano protech and it fixed the issue. There are also I think two big connectors for the ABS. Disconnecting and reconnecting those might help too. I hope you fix it for free.

    SOH & degradation

This seems to be qite bad degrafation for such a low mileage. Hx is a bit problematic too. I fixed 30kWh Leaf with around 240.000km but this one was dead when it was cold. My experiences are that 40kWh packs are no better then 30kWh. Last year I refurbished one battery with 110.000km and one...

If the car is generally OK it would maybe be worth to invest in battery cell replacement. This battery has reached it's EOL.

Article every Leaf owner should read

There were a couple but not many fires. Imagine this situation: Your car reports insulation loss and it can't be restarted. Usually the protective sheet metal eats in the cell because of bending and rubs thru the insulating layer of the pouch cell. Error is there for a reason, insulation must be...
