Portland to San Diego, CA; California isn't ready for EV's

I'm in for the next year! I actually did go across the border just to say that I did! I got a real Mexican breakfast for like 7 bucks at restaurant in a mall in Tijuana and then came back!

Portland to San Diego, CA; California isn't ready for EV's

I wholeheartedly agree. I actually got an EVGo trial membership ($7.95) for 50 days but only used their chargers on two occasions, while traveling from SD to LA and then on the first leg form LA to SF and they happened to be the only two fast chargers open which were along the 101 that I could...

    Nema 30 amp/240V capable EVSE.

@RonDawg As to the first point, how car companish of Nissan... Way to shoot themselves on the foot. Yet another reason why Tesla will rule the EV market for years to come. As for the second point, it would be fairly easy to build a charger smart enough for it to make a diagnostic of the...

Portland to San Diego, CA; California isn't ready for EV's

Just got back from a 2,450 mile round trip from Portland Oregon to San Diego California, plus a quick trip to TJ. The NW people that live in Oregon and Washington don't know how lucky they are to live in a place that has such a great EV charging infrastructure (specially when it comes to...

    Nema 30 amp/240V capable EVSE.

Nissan should offer as stock equipment a 30 AMP capable EVSE with capabilities to charge 110/120 volts or 208-240 volts and offer the corresponding adapters to charge at any NEMA outlet. This upgrade would not be hard or expensive to make and I'm sure Panasonic would be more than willing to work...

    Ecopia EP422 tires suck

I replaced mine with Continental Extreme Contact DWS. Awesome tires, didn't loose any range and they can handle any kind of weather you throw at them, even light snow! I go to the mountain quite often and I haven't had any issues with them so far.

    The New Tire Replacement Post

Thank you for your post, Fred: I do know about Nokians and I agree that they are awesome winter tires. However, I want an all weather tire that I can use year round in downtown Portland and surrounding areas. The weather is not so extreme over here to justify the use of dedicated winter tires...

    The New Tire Replacement Post

Just got my Nissan Leaf two weeks ago! I live in Portland and I like to hit one of the Ski resorts close to town on a regular basis during the winter time. The roads to get there are always plowed and there are two DC chargers on the mountain so range is not an issue, though I fear that the...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

Got on an S last Saturday, took it for an overnight test drive and signed the lease on that same car the next day. First impressions of the car: Loving it so far, I live in Oregon; Oregon has a really good infrastructure when it comes to EV charging, I was able to take it to Hood River OR...
