Odd - CarWings Email Stated Charged to 9/12 Bars, 11 Actual

Well Tom, looks like Stanton's experience just proved true for my Leaf as well - when I started the Leaf this morning, I'd lost a capacity bar. The CarWings email was still a bit odd as it stated, "Charged to 12 of 12 bars". And I'm puzzled as well by the Leaf's display, as it DID show 12 bars...

Odd - CarWings Email Stated Charged to 9/12 Bars, 11 Actual

I've still got all of them. And the same exact issue occurred again this morning! Although today's CarWings email stated charged to 10 of 12 bars (instead of 9 in the first case). Got in the Leaf and it showed 11 of 12. Drove it for about 2-miles before it dropped to the 10th bar. I've set my...

Odd - CarWings Email Stated Charged to 9/12 Bars, 11 Actual

No, my wife doesn't know how to use the remote app, nor is there anything scheduled, and there was no need when I left at 8:00 a.m. I've sure been scratching my head over this. About the only possibility I can think of is that my Blink somehow decided to start charging after the Leaf completed...

Odd - CarWings Email Stated Charged to 9/12 Bars, 11 Actual

Has anyone ever experienced a substantial difference in their overnight charging between what CarWings reports via email and when you actually start the car? They've always matched in the past for me. I have my Leaf set with an End-Timer only (6:00 a.m.), 80% and connected to a Blink. This...

Ecotality down to .89 cents a share

Wow, wonder which alternate universe they live in? J. Read must be watching too much of the Fringe TV series! Especially love "The Blink Network is a robust operating platform". Yeah, right!

    Official Tesla Model S thread

Tony, many thanks for those pictures - they're better than ANY of the official pictures that show the car details. The lighting was just right. When my Leaf lease is up in May 2014, I'm hoping there will be several manufacturer's offering 150 - 200 miles driving range. But if not, Tesla will...

unintended consequences - frost on headlights

Cut a whole onion, then rub the juice over the lens, mirrors, windshield, etc. The sulphur in the juice is what keeps it free of ice. Saw this in a useful tips email I subscribe to, but haven't tried it since my car is garaged. Would like to hear if this works.

"Can you drive that electric car in the rain?" and other ???

My wife got this question last Sunday - "So how often do you have to get the oil changed in an electric motor?" Her response, "uh, never. The only service we do is to take it in to have the tires rotated and the battery checked, once a year. I think my husband said the only liquids are coolant...

    EV, PHEV specs/dimensions compared

With perhaps a ratio of the pack weight to the car's overall weight.

    EV, PHEV specs/dimensions compared

Is there any info on how much each vehicle's battery pack weighs? I've always wondered if some mfr's have an edge in this area, or they're all pretty much the same.

Nissan Engineering Team Visit Dec. 3rd: Recap

Likes: - Wonderfully smooth and quiet - hate driving cars with conventional or CVT transmissions now! - Good power and torque plus regen make it a winner in twisty mountain roads. Gives you perfect, effortless control. - Electric fuel means I can use my solar PV for free! - I know this is...

Ecotality rolling out roughly 200 QC chargers next month.

I just visited ECOtality's web site - http://www.theevproject.com/media.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - and there's nothing there regarding any of this. So where is this even confirmed? That blog doesn't contain any links either. Like others here, I'm pretty skeptical...

San Diego - Current List of Public Charging Stations

Are these open to the public? Naturally neither the Ace Parking or CCSE stations show up in the Blink app!

San Diego DC Charge Non-Profit Organization (was Oct 1 meet)

I just saw this article by Brad Berman on plugincars.com - sounds VERY promising for quick charging, where Nissan is building it's own charger for ~$13,000 and they believe it may be possible to bring even that down to 3,000 - 5,000! If only...

    Balboa Park Charging Stations

I recommend also contacting the EV Project on this issue. http://www.theevproject.com/contact.php Below is what I sent: I attended the dedication of the Blink chargers in San Diego, and was happy that I'd finally be able to visit destinations outside the reach of my LEAF. But every time...

    Balboa Park Charging Stations

I've submitted the note below, but won't be holding my breath for any action - Comments: I was at the dedication of the EV chargers at Reuben Fleet, plus those at the Air & Space Museum, so was thrilled that I would be able to drive from my home in Alpine to destinations along the coast, Point...

The Nissan Leaf is a very reliable and well constructed car

After 2-1/2 months, 2,340 miles, zero problems. The car's drivability, maneuverability (in parking lots or winding mountainous roads), power, comfort, roominess for passengers and even surprisingly large objects (picked up a medium refrigerator with it!), smoothness and quietness make it a gem...

    San Diego Leaf Fanatics!

FYI, I live in Alpine, south of I-8, off of Alpine Heights. While my wife and I haven't attempted Julian yet, we have driven a couple times to Lake Cuyamaca, and Julian is only 9 miles further. For us to get to the lake and back is 51.5 miles round trip. Here's a very brief summary of this...

First Public Charger in San Diego 6/16 Show up to Support!

I just sent this email to the park - I own a Nissan Leaf, the all-electric car, so was thrilled when the Blink chargers were installed there. I live in Alpine, so while I can just make the approx 70-mile round trip on a single charge, knowing I could plugin there for an hour or so would have...

First Public Charger in San Diego 6/16 Show up to Support!

Ha, I can visualize their distribution process - They have a sweet, 93-yr old lady who comes once a week for one-hour, when she remembers to go in, and she then writes each letter by two-finger typing on a Windows-98 PC with 16MB of RAM, slowed by arthritis. This achieves the amazing output of...
