    Chevrolet Bolt & Bolt EUV

We wanted/needed more range and got impatient waiting for the Niro EV or 60kW Leaf. Niro looks to be small batches only for the foreseeable future, and were bummed about the staid (and dark) interior of the new Leaf -- it lost all its charm! So we sold our much-loved 2013 SV on Craigslist and...

Dealer won't negotiate over phone or email?

Lots of dealers consider it bad business for them to negotiate online -- it lets you sit at your keyboard and toss them lowball #s; if they say no they've lost a potential customer, if they say okay you take it to another/more local dealer and ask them to match it. Negotiating online undercuts...

Kia Niro Plug-In Hybrid (and BEV ?) CUV

https://cleantechnica.com/page/3/ Now on sale on Korea, as planned. Lots of nice standard stuff. Range for 60+kw version apparently downgraded. US launch apparently pushed to q1 of 2019 as well? One smile and two frowns if that’s all true (info on their US website hasn’t changed). Korean...

    Kia Niro BEV

100% agree! The Outlander was of course on the far end of the spectrum, but this isn't my first rodeo so I automatically add a few months mentally. That said the big question is how many they'll make and where they'll ship them. I'm not expecting particularly good news in either of those, but...

    Kia Niro BEV

Kia's US website now has a page dedicated to the 2019 Niro EV: https://www.kia.com/us/en/content/vehicles/upcoming-vehicles/2019-niro-ev It says "The all-new 2019 Kia Niro EV has debuted internationally, expanding upon the Niro model family of hybrid crossovers and is set to arrive in the US at...

    Kia Niro BEV

That looks awesome! Love the creative/open cargo space up front, and the **regen paddles** on the steering wheel! I've been considering a Bolt to replace our Leaf, but might hold out for this even if it's a year or two, based on the slightly better cargo space (more horizontal, less vertical)...

    Kia Niro BEV

agree it's a totally tapioca look, but like the interior size (only slightly smaller than the Leaf, which is better than the Bolt), range, and 80kW charging rate. Won't have the pep of a Bolt but hopefully won't have the degradation of a Leaf either. Hope these come out sooner and in larger...

    Paint Peeling on Dash?! :/

Did anyone come up with a fix for this? I'm considering trying to touch mine up for private sale. Graphite? :)

LEAF 2 : What we know so far (2018 or later?)

I'll miss the quirky-but-friendly character of Gen I as well. Always makes me smile to see one -- which happens increasingly often even in Vermont. This thing looks like a bar of soap did it with a skunk. Maybe I'll like it in different colors/different angles -- but not a lot of charm as far...

Official Ford C-MAX Energi PHEV thread

We just bought an off-lease '14 CMax Energi for $15k. Navigation, moonroof, heated leather power seats -- nice car! The miles should cover either me or my wife on a daily basis except for maybe January here in Vermont :) I'd been tracking the plug-in varieties of Niro and Ioniq and then...

Gen 2 Chevrolet Volt PHEV (2016+) MSRP $33,995

Agreed -- we just traded our Prius V for an off-lease CMax Energi (our other car is a Leaf) because we wanted to drive electric as much as possible -- but as devoted as I am to that with a young family and wife who makes unpredictable road trips for work, it's not yet sensible enough to move to...

Terrible OEM Wipers - Will PIAA Super Silicone blades work?

Sibelman, how were your results with PIAA? Paul, what did you end up doing? I'm amazed at how poor the OEM wipers are on my new-to-me '13 and am normally a refill guy, but figure I'm not exactly giving up a perfect fit if I toss the OEM assemblies. I'd like to get PIAA assemblies and then use...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

Thanks Tim - I've been aware of the issue (thanks to the forum) and had the circuit checked out by a trusted electrician. Waiting on estimates to upgrade to 220 - will see what happens.

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

Yes, the phone finds and pairs with the OBD - but then LeafSpy doesn't see it (I've tried port 16, making sure the phone isn't paired to audio, etc.). I've got this one on the way and, while I don't really need any #s other than 'how far the car goes' (which is a highly-satisfying 90+ miles if...

Anyone know this 2013 SV w/QC listed for $13k in Raleigh NC?

No Bose. Still ~ 2k less than most '13 S models on Carmax. It would be interesting if there are stats on the different options - how many base/no-QC SVs, QC SVs, Premium-package SVs etc. - and how well they sell/lease/get returned.

    Help.. would you buy a 2012 or lease a 2015 ???

Just bought a 22k 2013 SV w/QC from Carmax for 13k. 12 capacity bars. Wanted to go elsewhere and haggle but the car's exactly what I wanted, they ship them to you, and doubt I'd've beaten that price by much. Now's a great time to get a 13 off lease!

    Clarification on yearly battery test.

I just bought a used '13 and the warranty manual says that battery checks are required to maintain your warranty at least half a dozen times, including throughout the service timetable. I don't always do as I'm told and don't expect to be a warranty replacement candidate, but it's spelled out...
