You could install TeamViewer on your phone and remote into your desktop/laptop to control your EV that way.. Depends on how bad you want that remote climate! :)

I tested the top speed my LEAF and its 94mph, My car would climb to that speed and just stop at 94 like a brick wall limit. It was a flat road as well, but not willing to test it with a downhill to see if it goes more than that.

I found that if you enable cruise control, you are not using "ECO" mode anymore. I toggled between eco versus cruise and it shows the same numbers. As for me, cruise control is perfect for me since its flat all the way for my traveling except that a hill over the freeway.
