    Charging Interrupt By Utility?

Dave you're correct, you can unplug the USB port inside your Blink which is the cellular modem. Since it caches the info you would need to mount the SD card and remove that line in the config file. I didn't bring this up before but Ecotality probably is in the wrong by transmitting this...

    Charging Interrupt By Utility?

The CDMA/Sprint data card inside your Blink has GPS. Their python deamon scripts run and stored the location in /conf/config.ini on the SD card. It is pushed to ecotality in the data exchange of https://update.blinknetwork.com/v/x (config file push). The attribute is gps.location in the...

    Charging Interrupt By Utility?

This is INDEED a bug and by this "feature" you make it a large issue. Now out of my 5 hour super peak off I could potentially not charge for a longer period. Ecotality--focus on the basics. What about writing some code and put a screen saver in QT? It took me about 2 hrs to implement this...

Official EV Project / Ecotality / free charger thread

You guys really believe "glossies" (spec-sheets). I remember not that long ago the Blink L2 EVSE glossy indicated they would show state of charge, which is impossible given the J1772 spec. The app is pretty much worthless until public L2 EVSEs exist in quantity.

Is it OK to turn off Blink if you don't use it?

With all of ecotality's problems in networking and simple things, its going to be a miracle for them to collect data. Even if they collect it, how accurate is it? (See existing thread on kWh inaccuracies).

Event - The Plug-in EV Revolution: Are we ready?

There's more than that. The Mossy group alone has delivered over 130 leafs as of last week. If you want to rope in Volts its probably over 200.

    Lock/seal/tag on your Blink unit?

As I said previously it really doesn't matter because you can slip the outer black ring over the seal/lock. Its a brillant mechanical design!

Poll: Next San Diego Meeting Date

Also if we crash this party we could make it 10+ leafs in addition to other cars :-).

Poll: Next San Diego Meeting Date

Maybe we could make an exception and make it a Thursday night and attend this "enviormental movie night" in Encinitas. Thursday, May 26th: Wherever You Want to Go part of the BMW Activate the Future Series “Wherever You Want To Go” is the first release under BMW Documentaries—a new franchise...

    Charging Interrupt By Utility?

They definately have this implemented in the Blink code. Do you think they log every network transaction? Go compare a network sniff with your syslog output. Do you know they also cache your lat/long and ship it back to the mothership? I just found this nugget today.

The REAL Charging Cost per SDG&E and "Equivalent ICE mpg"

From Randy's bill this looks incorrect. Its only the $0.07, $0.08 and $0.14 TOTAL rate. If these rates are incorrect I will be contacting the PUC about the email I received about my 2nd meter rates. Their chart in the email does not include any other disclosures past the amounts above.

    Charging Interrupt By Utility?

Tell her she may want to check with the developers before she answers incorrectly. It indeed comes through their web polling channel. In their code they refer to it as bool demandResponse; /*!< True if the unit is in a demand response mode, else False */ bool delayedCharge; /*!< True if...

    Charging Interrupt By Utility?

Has anyone reported this to Ecotality? What is there response (if any)?

    Balboa Park Charging Stations

I would say as operational as any Blink can be, which isn't saying much.... I too went to visit these units and they indeed have Residential firmware and appear not to be connected. They were fully open when I looked at them. To get "public" firmware I assume ecotality will have to send some...

    Charging Interrupt By Utility?

I know that SDG&E is not participating with Ecotality like this. I'll put a lot of money its a bug or public testing. Either way sad stuff.

Mods for the Blink EVSE ! (was Fix)

76% efficiency is pretty poor as well as 60W is sized way to big. I'm thinking a 2A/10W. This plus a few software tweaks I think we can get standby below 1W.

Mods for the Blink EVSE ! (was Fix)

Well boys and girls we need a new power supply. The power supply was pulled from the blink and identified as a Meanwell PT-65-R13VAI. From some quick component research we believe it is a PT-65A due to voltage levels. http://www.meanwell.com/search/pt-65/default.htm It is a AC/DC 60W power...

Mods for the Blink EVSE ! (was Fix)

My intent in the beginning is selfish and to produce software with the feature set I want. My long-term goal is to have Blink/Ecotality wake up and realize what they designed and put to market is not acceptable in the current state. If this means we have to continue the underground builds then...

Mods for the Blink EVSE ! (was Fix)

Absolutely on the list. Once instanteous draw is implemented, draw per day and per month should be straight forward. The end goal is to have a visual graph of last charge run, last day, last month. The whole point of publishing the video is to show that the charge mechanism is working and is...
