    Impressive 2018 real life range.

Had the 2018 leaf for just over 2 month. It is my go to work car. Round trip every day is about 90km of mixed heavy traffic city and highway. It consistently use about 10kwh or less a day. This week, I had driveway sealing done and had to avoid rolling over it. Therefore not able to charge...

    Cost Per Charge

$2.5 per session sounds like GO train stations. I live in Ontario and the cost of electricity is cad$0.1 per Kwh during the hours of 7pm to 7am. It costs ~$1.6 per 100km of driving. In a $2.5 per session, it all depends on how full your battery is when you plug in. If on a 2018 leaf your...

    B mode vs e-padel efficiency

I guess you may have read the title of this thread wrong. This thread is about "B mode vs e-pedal efficiency", not "which mode is the most efficient" or "how people should drive". D mode is off topic. Each mode has its benefit and the driver will choose based on the traffic condition. This...

    B mode vs e-padel efficiency

Unfortunately, not everyone lives in the desert where your car is the only moving object. Try the experiment you suggested in the city and the only two places you end up are either the hospital or police station. :D (Ah...I may be wrong! Could be in the morgue too). It is no different to say...

    B mode vs e-padel efficiency

Ok, did more driving in e-pedal mode and here is my observation. e-Pedal mode could be as efficient as B mode, if not more. What I observed is that e-Pedal do not apply the brakes if you don't let go the accelerator completely. Even, if you just leave the accelerator very slightly from...

Amazing City Car - 2018 Leaf

Cool! ......but I probably won’t spend money on that. :)

Amazing City Car - 2018 Leaf

In Canada, rear seat heater, quick charge port, battery warmer and portable L1/L2 EVSE are standard for all trims. Probably because it is cold up here.

Will Leaf Prices Come Down by 2021?

All manufacturers have plans to lower battery price. However, it does not mean EV prices will come down. It only means they could start making money selling EVs. It is always the market demand that drive price. If sales numbers are down, they will have factory rebate kick in. When...

2018 leaf analog speedometer . Whadayathink?

Analogue dial is always better than digital. Watch or speedometer. It is more premium look and easier to read. No more digital jumping all the time in front of your eyes. A true upgrade from the old Leaf. Good thing Nissan didn't try to save money by using a digital.

Newbie question: 80% overnight vs morning?

Thanks for the replies. Yes, I know that the 18 Leaf don't have the 80% option. However, this is my drive to work car which is quite consistent that I only use about 35-40% of power everyday. I just set the timer for 130 min and it will get back to about 80%. When needed, I just change the...

Newbie question: 80% overnight vs morning?

Just got a 2018 Leaf as my first EV. I have read opinion that it is better for batteries not to stay at full charge for too long. How about at 80% charge? Does it matter if everyday I charge the battery to 80% in the evening and drive the next morning? Would it be better to charge to 80% in...

    B mode vs e-padel efficiency

Found this page from Nissan with more details on how e-pedal function. https://www.nissan-global.com/EN/TECHNOLOGY/OVERVIEW/e_Pedal.html From the description, it appears that friction brake is not normally used until stop. Only engaged on slippery road. It should have as good efficiency if...

Any difference in b and d mode when e-pedal is turned on?

I felt the current e-Pedal is already slowing down quite fast. At highway speed, look further ahead and slow down earlier usually save more energy.

    Download Driving Record?

I searched the forum and internet but was not able to find any answer. Our leaf send driving record to Nissan Connect and we are able to see the data on the app or website. Is there a way to also download the driving records to the computer?

Amazing City Car - 2018 Leaf

Only got mine 10 days ago but enjoying it very much! It is my first EV. Was driving a 2016 Maxima. Feeling guilty while fighting Toronto's traffic commuting to work every day. Traded the maxima for the Leaf. For the 88km back and forth downtown, the maxima on average burns about $13 of...

I have a Leaf 2 what is the cream coloured switch on the roof liner?

The green LED next to it should be on if it is functioning properly. You need to set up Nissan Connect Service before it will connect to operator.

2018 Leaf: How to Charge to 80% Only?

I saw on youtube lately that one guy was test driving the 2018 Leaf from 100% to 0% on a road test. He got the Leaf Spy connected as well. What he found was interesting. At 100% full charge, Leaf Spy showing 38KWh, there is a 2 KWh reserved room for regen. Nissan apparently never charge the...

    February 2018 EV sales

Nissan basically could not make enough of it to meet demand. I reserved mine in mid September and only got it late March. Production for North America apparently did not ramp up till March. Dealership in Canada say people ordering now won't get it till July/August.

Starting Climate System also start charge?

Thanks everyone for the time explaining it. Yes, I am on 32A L2 (the portable nissan charger that came with the car). Now I know why it is charging. Looks like it would work better for me to turn the climate timer off and just remote start it a few minutes before leaving using the app.

Starting Climate System also start charge?

Just got my 2018 Leaf for about a week. I set charge timer to stop charge at 7:00am (end of cheaper rate) and climate control timer at 8:30am for pre-heat driving. I checked the status around 7:30am and found the car stopped charging and is at 81%. However, when I got into the car at 8:30...
