How go reset the EV System warning light

I recently got a EV system warning light on my 2011 Leaf. I was just wondering what is the easiest/cheapest way to clear it. The car is on it's last leg and I'm not interested in putting any more more into it :-(

    Traded in my leaf

Besides the degradation the leaf has been extremely reliable. When I bought it I was not aware of the battery degradation problem and I didn't get it inspected. I didn't do my research before buying it so even if I saw 6/12 I didn't know what it meant or that even would keep losing capacity. If...

    Traded in my leaf

Sounds good. It's just a hitch. it doesn't have electrical hookup.

    Traded in my leaf

Short story it's my fault. I really wanted an EV and rushed into it. It was the cheapest leaf on craigslist. I test drove it and made an offer. I didn't take it to Nissan to have it looked over. I guess why would you? EVs are the most reliable vehicles. It had 6/12 bars when I bought it in...

    Traded in my leaf

Well everyone I'm finally getting rid of my 2011 Leaf. It just fell to 3/12 bars. I loved that this was a EV and there was no way someone was going to buy it from me so I ended up trading it for a Tesla Model 3. Tesla offered me 2,400 to trade it in. They didn't even ask to see any photos of it...

    30 Days of not driving

I was away for 30 days and haven't driven my leaf since then. When I came back and the car is dead. It won't turn on or the lights won't come on. I left the charger connected. I'm guessing that the 12 volt battery is dead. I don't really have any tools to test it. I figured I ask before...

    LKQ Price Negotiation

Well I decided against buying the pack without knowing the condition of the battery pack. I won't be able to return it unless I prove that the batteries are degraded which basically I won't be able to do unless I open the battery pack.

    LKQ Price Negotiation

It's in the NW. I decided to buy it and get it over with. Hopefully it's in good condition. Rant time: I'm now in at $12k on a car that is worth $6k. Plus I have to spend several days swapping out the batteries. I LOVE that leaf is an electric car and HATE everything else about it. I'm never...

    LKQ Price Negotiation

The battery is from a 2014 leaf. I'm still reluctant to pay $3k for a battery pack I don't know the condition of. I don't know really know how well the 2014 batteries degrade but I've seen a lot of 2013 leafs that have lost 4 or 5 bars.

    LKQ Price Negotiation

Well, they already took the car apart so they can't turn it on to check the number of bars. Is there an easy way to check the health of the battery pack after it has been removed?

How to tell if 2011 leaf had the battery replaced

Thanks. This is going to be helpful. I just noticed a 11 going on auction near me so I can inspect it myself.

    LKQ Price Negotiation

I don't know anything about it yet. I'll call them up today and ask for details.

    LKQ Price Negotiation

Hi Everyone, I came across a used Nissan Leaf batter from LKQ. They want $3k for it and it's a little too much I'm wanting to pay for it. I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with negotiating prices with LKQ? If I can get it for $2k then I would be happy. Any suggestion would be...

How to tell if 2011 leaf had the battery replaced

Hi Everyone, I'm looking to replace my battery on my 11 leaf. I would like to try to find a totaled Leaf where it it has the new lizard battery pack. My question is how can I find out if the battery was replaced? I'm sure the salvage yard isn't going to know. If I have the VIN is there a...

Buying a used battery from salvage yards

I was hoping there would be a 100% sure way that a 13-15 batteries would fit but few of the responses have mentioned there could be some problems getting it to work on a 11 leaf. I don't want to spend $3k on a used battery only to find out it's not working. Then I would have to spend another...

Buying a used battery from salvage yards

I'm getting about 25 to 30 miles which is just enough to get me to work and back. Looks like my easiest option is to get the battery pack from the same year. This might be a stupid question but how do I know if my car has a battery warmer? The dealership said they aren't able to find out using...

Buying a used battery from salvage yards

Ok, to make a long story short, the service rep said they wouldn't be able to guaranty the work to install a used 2013 battery pack into my 2011 leaf. in order to guaranty it then I would have to buy the new battery pack from them which he also said was the original 2011 battery pack and not the...

Buying a used battery from salvage yards

Last year I was talking with my local Nissan dealership and they said they would replaced a used battery but would not guaranty that it would work. This was the service rep so I don't know how much he knows about the Nissan Leafs. Maybe I'll give them another call and see if I can get any more.

Buying a used battery from salvage yards

Well my 11 leaf officially dropped to 4 bars  . I really don't want to buy a new battery because the car is not worth that much. I'm looking at some salvage yards on the internet. A lot of the wrecked cars don't have the photos of the number of bars on the dashboard so it's very hard to...

    Battery Pack Warmer

I'm looking on replacing the battery pack on my 2011 Leaf. I found a battery pack that doesn't have a battery warmer but I don't know if mine has a battery warmer or not. I called the dealership and he said he can't look it out even with the VIN number. Should the battery pack fit my car even...
