NissanConnect EV / Telematics Hardware Update, for the post-2G world

Pretty much same for me. I use it a lot especially in Winter. Fuse pull lasts about 3 months. I'm in a condo building and quite a ways from the car, so remote control is very handy.

I just pull the fuse on the first of each month as maintenance and don't have a problem now. :-)

NissanConnect EV / Telematics Hardware Update, for the post-2G world

I have the non-communicating TCU issue since the upgrade and when I learned of the audio fuse pull, I have had to do it twice. I haven't had any accessory battery issues yet though. I have made numerous calls to Nissan for this issue and they keep moving it up to a higher level(I'm told). I...

NissanConnect EV / Telematics Hardware Update, for the post-2G world

I didn't pull the fuse again, but I tried it the next day and it communicated for the first time since May! I did drive it after I pulled the fuse and it sat overnight. Maybe it needed a reboot before the fuse pull trick works. We will see if it continues to work. Curious.........how was this...

NissanConnect EV / Telematics Hardware Update, for the post-2G world

Same is happening with my car. 2011 replaced TCU in December (12/19/16) and all worked well until recently. Nissan CS worked on the issue for weeks and letting me know it was bumped up to the next level for a few weeks in a row. Finally said I needed to take it to the dealer for diagnosis...

HOW TO: Daytime Running Lights (DRL) installed for $35

When I did it on my '11 model car I noticed there were similar color wires in the PDM. Be sure you have the correct one.

HOW TO: Daytime Running Lights (DRL) installed for $35

Using your photos, I would recommend using a similar H8 LED as shown, but also with a lensed tip for more forward light. For the DRL I would need to see the lamp base for a recommendation.

HOW TO: Daytime Running Lights (DRL) installed for $35

Continuing saga on DRLs. This is the LED I am using because it gave me the most lumins I could find that would fit the parking lamp location. (Cree 450 lumins) Note the silver band between the leds and the contacts. Here is the socket that the Leaf uses. Note the metal pieces on each side of...

HOW TO: Daytime Running Lights (DRL) installed for $35

Smart me/stupid me! I make it a practice to always use an in-line fuse when I add or change any electrics on a car. Smart me, I did this with the DRL addition. Stupid me, I forgot that I did it in this case as usual. That was the blown fuse and the DRLs are back in business. Now the electric...

HOW TO: Daytime Running Lights (DRL) installed for $35

Yep. The fuses in the PDM, the one next to it and the one on the left side of the inst panel. Fuses anywhere else?

HOW TO: Daytime Running Lights (DRL) installed for $35

Need help! I have had my DRLs powered through the PDM for 3 years with no problems. I used my parking lamps with larger bulbs. Today I decided to replace the bulbs with LED lamps. I replaced one side with no problems. Then I started to replace the other side and put the lamp in while the...
