I can use something else instead of nissan connect?

Maybe OVMS is what you need.

    Telematics Should I Disable It?

The only side effect I know of is that the car will record a DTC for the telematics failure. It won't affect daily use.

    Now I'm getting nervous...

Ditto to both the above posts. While there are car brands with more complex battery setups than the Nissan Leaf, these cars are equally well engineered as Toyota vehicles in general IMO. I've had my 2012 leaf a few years now and besides the obvious battery degradation its been perfected for my...

    53kw CATL Upgrade on 2013 Leaf S

As @ginetto says, the Leaf BMS is unable to cope with aftermarket cells at all. It can't even safely work with aftermarket MMC cells let alone Lifepo4. A Canbridge won't help either.

    Error P33D4

As others have said, internal cell resistance is high, confirming aged cells. Looking like you could benefit from a visit to EVs Enhanced in Christchurch.

Hi @Dazzi met . Can you advise the forum where you are located please?

2012 charge port lid opener handle replacement

Here's my printed one. At the time back in 22 it cost around $AUD45

2012 charge port lid opener handle replacement

Ditto. I had one printed in Aluminium via craftcloud. Works better than the original one.

How does phone communicate with charging station?

Can you elaborate on what phone app you are referring to please? Charging apps for public chargers use the mobile network. Home charger connectivity is different.

Does ECO mode really reduce HVAC power consumption? What about the stealth "partial recirc?"

Eco mode reduces available acceleration power. I'm not aware of any changes to the HVAC but others can advise on that. You can switch between Eco and normal at any time. E-pedal changes the accelerator pedal into a one pedal mode where electric braking happens when you take your foot off. There...

Battery Upgrade, Pairing? - What's possible with LeafSpyPro and what's not

Afaik the 2011-12 leaf has its charger in the back and it's limited to 3.3kwh. Only the later models with the charger in the stack in the engine bay can be upgraded by swapping to a 6.6kwh charger.

Any reason not to buy 20/21 62kwh Leaf (UK)

I read somewhere yesterday that CATL claims the price of lithium batteries has fallen 60% in the last 12 months. Even if they are exaggerating it suggests battery replacement costs won't be a big issue in 5 years time.

    Extending BMS Sensor wires

Worth planning it out carefully. Ensure everything is insulated including the busbars.

    Extending BMS Sensor wires

I'd extend the BMS wires by joining and soldering them and heat shrink sleeve them. Use similar gauge wire to the original. Where you run them in bundles you should heat shrink again. The voltage difference between cells alongside one another is small but the wires need to be very carefully...

Any reason not to buy 20/21 62kwh Leaf (UK)

Yes, tesla battery prices are expensive now but Id expect that to change as the industry grows.

    Battery imbalance question

If the cells are in fact genuinely faulty, then other than Nissan WTY, its not a straightforward thing replacing cells in the 62KWH pack. Theyre in big hard to get modules. Just keep an eye on it and raise it with your Nissan dealer during the next service.

    Gear selector stiff

I'm not aware of specific removal instructions but its not too hard to do. You will need to remove the cover between the seats first. The selector bolts down to mthe chassis and only has one wiring connector. There is a circuit board inside that you definetly don't want to get water etc into...

2012 SL, C1OE1 0109 PARKING BRAKE error, "Visit Dealer"

The parking brake on the early leaf is indeed an electric motor driven mechanism. There is also a sensor in the mechanism that reports the state of the brake. It's located beneath the boot and isn't too hard to access. I'd be looking for damage to the wiring loom around the mech or a blown fuse...

Battery Upgrade, Pairing? - What's possible with LeafSpyPro and what's not

This is Dallas video about installing his Cambridge. It's acting as battery translator for when you swap to a bigger battery. This is a bit about battery swap upgrades. This is Dallas video about how the battery pairing works.

    EVSE 200V 15A - Nissan Leaf 2017

I can confirm that @cornbinder89 is correct. We've thousands of JDM leads here in Australia. The OBC can handle a huge voltage range. A stepdown transformer will just waste energy. At 15A it's got to be getting hot. If the EVSE is going to have any problems with the 240v it will be a tiny power...
