LEAF's 12V battery behaviors - and why they go bad

It seems like its different charge power cross the different year models. It looks for me that something happened around the 2016 year model, the charge seems to be higher then the older models. So a LiFePO4 12.8V battery that works for a 2013 model may not work on 2016 model and up. The...

LEAF's 12V battery behaviors - and why they go bad

Here is an Nissan e-NV200 owner that finds out that the charge can be a little high when it comes to A. :D "In my env200 campervan I started off by changing the lead acid to a lithium battery, then I decided this was a bad idea since if you let it run flat the van will charge it almost...

LEAF's 12V battery behaviors - and why they go bad

I think that the battery dont even start to boil and turns dry, the amperage is so high, and pulses, that the battery is beeing internal damaged before that happens. The better battery quality/conditions, the longer it will hold. But thats just my opinion, based on the fact that I have read and...

LEAF's 12V battery behaviors - and why they go bad

Sadly that does not mean anything in this discussion. Most of the EVs have problems with the 12V battery, just do a search. On the Leaf low charge voltage and to high A seems to be the problem. And I cant really understand this thread. You have used several years and 22 pages arguing on a...

LEAF's 12V battery behaviors - and why they go bad

We have no measurements on the older Leaf that I have found. I think that, besides the low charge voltage problematic, they to cranks up the charge power to insane levels, anything else would be strange. I have read something more about the software upgrade I have mentioned, and it seems like...

LEAF's 12V battery behaviors - and why they go bad

I have noticed another thing, I can not confirm this for sure yet, that this is connected. No more stiff/sluggish/bad/strange brakes after the battery swap. At this point this is observation is not worth anything. But if it continues... :D

LEAF's 12V battery behaviors - and why they go bad

And on the other 21 pages here there are not any errouneous conclusions? All I can say is that this works now. Did not before. I would love if someone with the same year model could measure the A draw when charged like I have described. Of course we need more input on this before its...

LEAF's 12V battery behaviors - and why they go bad

I have read (I think  ) all the comments on this all over Internet last 14 days. Only a few mentions what the DCDC is capable to do, namely go up to 135A, 1700W if I recall right what I have read. I am not sure in this number either, but that is all we have. I have no problem...

LEAF's 12V battery behaviors - and why they go bad

I had some minor issues. And the search around finally brought me here. I will post my findings here, but also later I will start a new thread regarding my observations with this. First a little summary over what happened to my swedish 2017 model, 30 kWh. It started with FOB not working...
