    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

It is actually quite easy for anybody to add themselves to the tracking wiki. 1. Make sure you are logged into MNL.. 2. Go to The Tracking Wiki... 3. Go to the section (Loss of one battery capacity bar (15%)) and to the Right of the section title, click "Edit"... (if not there, you're not...

Very much agreed. Hydrogen has powerful lobbyists right now, and is getting some money for infrastructure. But the automaker's promise to have the Fuel Cell cars ready by 2015, is dependent on the Energy company's ability to have an "Infrastructure of sufficient Density" which I don't think...

Ah.... TaylorSFGuy... I was looking for just TaylorSF on the forum search. My Kingdom for a boolean wildcard.

Lost my first bar in the August heat.

Good catch... I had multiple windows up... and totally posted in the wrong thread. I meant to post here... http://www.mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=8802&view=unread#unread

Lost my first bar in the August heat.

True... but the reason why I made the spreadsheet is to let people know, that this issue is Geographically isolated more or less. Like seeing a death toll rise in one part of the country, and people just being glad they don't live near there.

Lost my first bar in the August heat.

Been a busy week adding first bar losers to the tracking wiki.

Unfortunately, EVERY EV BUYER needs to well educated, for the time being. Until EVs are more commonplace, their substantial difference will require buyers to be more aware.

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Thinking from the automakers perspective... the battery is a consumable item that has a visible counter. A normal ICE vehicle only has relatively low cost consumables, so 'certified used' cars can replace everything. And you are left with only the normal wear and tear of the engine and...

Mark, have you lost your 3rd bar already? The wiki is not yet tracking that.

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

It is a bit of a gamble to be sure. At the right price, it would be wise to purchase now. You have to speculate what the cost of a replacement pack will be, when Nissan starts selling them direct to consumers. In the future, if a replacement pack turns out to be much less expensive than...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

And it may make sense to move these 'Heat Casualties' to cooler climate for their second owner. Rather than spend the money to replace the cells. The depreciation of value changes drastically depending on where in the country it is resold. A buyer in a colder and more urban city, won't much...

    NASHVILLE TENNESSEE - LEAF

I will add you to the tracking wiki page that lists Leaf owners who have lost capacity bars. *links below* Anyone can add their info, but I ask that you keep the format in line with the rest of the page. Thanks.

Completely hypothetical, just to make a point that economic decisions could be swayed slightly. Sorry for any confusion. I have no idea what Nissan's costs per kwh truly is.

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

I didn't mean to be specific, that the Leaf will have a TMS. But your complaining could certainly help others in the future. Whether it is called the Leaf, Nissans next EV may have an Optional hot-weather package. Even if your complaints cause only a subtle change in R&D funding to look closer...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Yes, both of the 2 reported 4-bar-loss Leafs have been bought back by Nissan... and at least 1 of the 9 reported 3-bar-loss remaining Leafs have been bought back... and bturner had 2-bars lost...and Nissan bought it back. and pb1 had only 1-bar lost... and Nissan bought it back. It is not...

    Capacity Loss on 2011-2012 LEAFs

Of course it is worth the effort to make a phone call. If the battery starts to tank faster, and you start losing capacity faster... as unlikely as it may be... you will want to have Nissan know about the first indication. And even if it doesn't get much worse for this one customer... Nissan...
