240 miles range offers almost no benefit to me c/w 150 miles. I'll likely buy a 2018 LEAF because the size and tech features mean more to me than the extra range of the Bolt. No point in waiting for a longer range that I'll not need.

When i say optional I mean that you can disengage it. I did that for long downhills where a traditional system was preferable so i could coast.

Do we have to first select a dealer in order to put down the deposit? In 2009 we placed our deposit with Nissan., and only in 2010 did we have to select the dealer. That helped us negotiate a better deal. Any advice on getting the best deal buying a 2018 SL? Thanks Shaun

Nissan brought a loaded 2018 LEAF to me yesterday for our 1 hour test drive. I was particularly impressed with the ProPILOT system, the optional e-Pedal option and the new safety features. The comfort and ride quality was even better than our 2011, which we still have. Shaun

So my new battery (Feb 2016) seems to be doing remarkably well. Here are screenshots from February (new) and June, 4 months on. No drop from 66.14AHr in 4 months and 3400 miles. Really?

Late February this year I had a new battery installed under warranty. My AHr jumped to 66.14 A month later it was the same April: same May: same June,... same. Did Nissan really fix it that well? Here's my plot of the battery over the past couple of years February 23rd 2016 AHr=66.14...

That is interesting. I have been plotting my degradation with frequent readings I've taken for the past 10 months. Until I lost the 11th Bar last year I was doing everything I understood to maximize battery life: Charged to 80% unless I needed 100%, used the timers to charge at night, starting...

Could the warranty be void if the annual battery checks were not registered? Would be a shame to hasten the death only to find out you're stuck with that battery (or buy a new one) is there a way to tell if all the checks were done? Shaun 2011 LEAF, San Diego coastal. Just lost 3rd bar @ 33k

Thanks for posting, and please let us know how it goes with Nissan. I just lost my 10th, and project I'll be down to 43.2AHr by the end of the year (6/2011 delivery, will be ~40k miles by then) Did you by chance record the data when you lost your 10th bar? Shaun

Looking at my graph that would put me exactly at my 5 year date. ha, maybe i'll have to take a couple of adventure weekend vacations to the desert ! The 9th-bar line right now on my graph is at 42.75Ahr. I should hit that next January-February at the current degradation rate (-0.015Ahr/day)...
