For me, the down payment seems a little high (but that's from a number of states away...so it's hard to judge). My down payment (last year on a 2012 toward the end of the year) was $1000 and included the first month's payment, security deposit, etc. I tried to get a $0 down, but couldn't find...

I live in GA, so I can't help you with whether that's a good lease deal or not. But you should be able to calculate cost to charge at home fairly easily. The Leaf has a 24 KW-h battery. If you drained it entirely, it would take 24 KW-h to charge it (assuming it's still in good shape). So...

Glad to hear Marc treated you well. I leased my Leaf from him almost exactly a year ago (Saturday after Thanksgiving in 2012). I have sent three other folks to see him, but NONE of them were able to get what they felt were good deals and leased or purchased elsewhere. Heck, if I could get a deal...

Congrats. Your wife sounds like the perfect candidate for a Leaf. For L1 charging just make sure it's a dedicated circuit. Thr Leaf should be the only thing plugged in to that circuit. Keep enjoying. I just drove our ICE Expedition last night for a family trip and for the first time in a...

I was wondering if next year when all of these 2 year leases on the 2012s start to finish up if Nissan with either offer deals to extend, deals to buy, or perhaps offer the lessors a lease on a new 2014 Leaf a few months before the completion of the 2012 Leaf lease. With the right terms, I'd...

Congrats! I have the same color but in a 2012. What type of interior did your wife get? Mine is the default recycled soda bottles with the special "dirt attractant" added to it. I do like the car though! I wish the range were a bit more...but that seems to be a common refrain. It gets me...

Yeah, I think I need the full explanation. I don't see how collision insurance for $20 a day has anything to do with leasing a Leaf. Right now, what you've posted makes no sense. That's like saying, "I bought travel insurance for $40 a day but didn't realize a bagel only costs 99 cents at...

Are you sure the switch that control inputs on the steering wheel doesn't allow you to toggle up/down for stations? I know it does that on mine, but then again, I have a 2012 SL, not a 2013 S. Who knows what they removed from the SL to make the S. Glad you like it overall. Telescoping steering...

From a G to a Leaf. That's a big change! Hope you enjoy the new ride. Since my other ride is an almost 10 year old Expedition, I was MOST impressed with all the geegaws and gizmos in the Leaf. My kids still get a kick out of the tilt and fold center screen (to access the CD player). And if...

Any Leafs delivered to Georgia yet?

Seems like there'd be a way to incentive that...perhaps provide a code you can enter on the charging company's Web site to get free credits after you make a purchase. I am still surprised the Whole Foods by us has their chargers for free, but it does fit with their corporate policies on...

Any Leafs delivered to Georgia yet?

You've got a great point. If something is given away for free, a good many folks will take advantage of that. $2.50 an hour is VERY steep though. I can charge my car at home for six hours for less than that on my Blink. I can see them needing to charge a bit above what the electricity costs to...

Any Leafs delivered to Georgia yet?

Update on the Georgia vehicle tax. The tax DOES, of course, apply to leases, and it applies at the time the vehicle is leased. I am not, however, certain if it applies to the value of the lease (i.e., the total of all the monthly payments) or the value of the car. Obviously, that would make a...

Any Leafs delivered to Georgia yet?

Hi - As for #1, I'm not certain myself. I just received my tag renewal, and it's still not clear. I'd check the DMV Web site or call you county tax commissioner. I am grandfathered in since I leased last year. When the law was first written, I believe folks who leased were getting doubly screwed...

Welcome to the club. It is a fun car, isn't it? My boys loved all of the beeps, boops, and display items. Neither of our other cars is so geeky. The heated seats are still a big hit. Before the leaf, the kids had to fight to get a front seat in either of our other cars. But with the Leaf, they...

The official "I got my Leaf" thread

At our EV Club of the South meeting here in Atlanta last night, this very topic came up. With the incentives the way they are, it doesn't "pay" to buy a used Leaf (or keep one when your lease is up) if you can get a new one for such a good deal. Someone noted there was a used one on a lot...

I do think Nissan could do a better job of building the business case. I had to build my own business case to show myself that with the Georgia state rebate incentive and the free charger, I would be driving the car for free for two years. My out of pocket costs were a little over $7,000 (total...

Congrats on your lease! For the Level 2 charger, there are more and more options coming on the market each day. I know the most basic is doing an upgrade of sorts to your Level 1 charger (the one that comes with the car). I can't find the link at the moment, but there's info on the boards here...

Any Leafs delivered to Georgia yet?

I am guessing that since it's classified as "EV" that there won't be any testing required. There's no tailpipe to stick the thingy in anyway. I guess they could, feasibly, hook it up to the computer to determine it's not generating any emissions, but I would hope the state has figured that out...

That sounds like a very good price...heck that's less than the end of lease buy out for my 2012! And I still have over a year left on the lease! Enjoy electric avenue!

Wow! Sounds like range anxiety will be only a myth for you...I wish it were so for me... If I leave with 110 miles and drive 92, I have 3 left. Still good, but not nice like yours :-).
