Has ANY LEAF required a brake pad replacement yet?

we've done a couple of seasons hillclimb racing with ours and are nowhere needing new pads. I don't think they will be a good investment for an aftermarket manufacturer....

    12V Battery Charging Mystery

I'd just like to add that my Australian spec 2011 (recently upgraded from 2G to 3G, but a different unit to US) also flattens the 12v battery when left for a few weeks without driving, whether it is plugged in to charge or not. I live in an area with no phone service

JDM Part # F2809-3NC0A Illuminated Nissan Logo Install Tips

oh but it still looks so cool, all these years later. we had been pulled up once for a random breath test and were told the light was illegal and to remove it. no issues other than that

Using the Leaf for power in a Blackout: MY "Leaf to Home"

Just wanted to say thanks for the idea in this thread, with a 2000w (240v) inverter my leaf now makes very passable coffee at our hillclimb venues. the inverter can potentially draw 200a @12v but the coffee machine only needs 1600w I guess it's only drawing 160A. awesome idea thanks guys...

Suspension Modifications - Blitz adjustables installed

I've been running the same springs/shocks in mine since 2012 and am very happy with them, including various types of motorsport like motorkhanas and hillclimbs. from my point of view they are a reasonable compromise to improve handling but still be usable day to day. I also kept the delivered...

Torque biasing or limited slip differential for Leaf?

Interestingly, the service manual says they did exactly this....but if they did it is total rubbish. We hillclimb our leaf, and with hillclimb off it acts exactly like an unlimited open diff out of tight corners See "Brake Limited Slip Diff" in BRC manual I'd love to get my hands on a proper...

Does anyone know where in Japan I can buy the LED emblem kit?

I ordered mine from Japan through Jesse Streeter, who sources nissan parts from a local dealer to him, but like Randy said I wouldn't assume they are in stock....

2013 Nissan LEAF with a Spare tire and no Trunk space lost!

not strictly mandatory, it's just seen as very important in the market because we are a backwards thinking lot. given the choice I would probably prefer the diffuser which they didn't fit in Oz because the spare is there. I like the solution in this thread....simple and keeps the diffuser too.

    Pimp your Leaf (Nismo style)

I went with tyres 6% taller than standard (overall) because the speedo was reading 6% high on the standard wheels. I hate a huge speedo in the middle of the dash that is incorrect, so I deliberately changed the tyres size

Is there demand for Leaf Tuning? Show your interest

Nismo produce an ECU in japan which allows a higher engine output....wasn't brave enough to try it in my Aus car as we run different software

    Pimp your Leaf (Nismo style)

They are listed in the nismo catalogue in japan, they cost me $AUD550ea which is reasonable for quality forged rims, particularly since the offset is made to suit the car

    Pimp your Leaf (Nismo style)

good searching :) yep I'm running Blitz zzr suspension which has also been good; firm but not hard.

    Pimp your Leaf (Nismo style)

I ended up picking up a set of Nismo LMX6 rims for my car. They are the same wheel as in the nismo leaf kit, despite Nissan jp saying they wouldn't sell them separately (weird). they are 18x7.5" with +42 offset front and +36 offset rear They weighed in at 21kg including tyres compared to...

JDM Part # F2809-3NC0A Illuminated Nissan Logo Install Tips

Sorry for the slight delay in responding; I ordered it from Nissan Japan via Jesse Steeter http://jessestreeter.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Part number G6950-3NK0A. You also need 4 clips to hold them down 76988-JM00A

OBDII/Smartphone Combos which Work/Do Not Work

I've been using a Vgate adapter with a Sony Xperia Z and an HTC Velocity with no issues. However, I strongly suspect that all compatibility issues that people are experiencing are coming from the adapter side. The phones are used by hundreds of thousands or millions of people every day for...

    Flat Tire @home

:) If it's more helpful, yes any real or spare tyre from any other car that physically fits onto the studs and over the brakes (ie turns without scraping) is acceptable to get you a few klm at low speeds to a tyre shop. many nissans match the stud pattern, so do some Toyotas and some fords.

    Flat Tire @home

you can't just fit the spare tyre from under the rear floor oh sorry. US leaf right?

SOC-Meter User Guide and Firmware Updates

It may be too late to add, but if you have memory available the ability to default to the last used mode when it starts up would be a mean a lot less frustrating clicking at start up ;) In my case it's probably not too relevant because I suspect I need dedicated hardware to update firmware
