    NC Leaf Owners

Interesting to hear about your problems with Ralph. I always kept a close eye and made it clear what I did or did not want him to do/try. CMC was very cautious in everything they did, and I would certainly trust them with any job. I don't feel like they needed any oversight, at least the crew...

    NC Leaf Owners

I've used two, and both I would recommend. CMC Electric installed 30A EVSE wiring in the garage, and Ralph's Electrical Service installed the wiring and conduit for my outdoor EVSE in the driveway. CMC is a big company, and Ralph is a one-man-band, but both did great work and pricing should be...

Help an indecisive person decide on an EVSE

I've still not seen anyone post the NEC section that addresses this. Your post from just a few minutes ago seems to only outline the rules for the wiring and not for the breaker. It also only specifies minimums, with no text addressing any sort of maximum.

This makes a lot of sense now that you've spelled it out. Is this not addressed in the NEC anywhere?

Help an indecisive person decide on an EVSE

I like the concept and I've looked into the JESLA in the past, but it just doesn't meet my needs in this case. It's also double the cost of what I decided on.

Scroll back about three posts - already bought the LCS-25. :)

Help an indecisive person decide on an EVSE

The required breaker for the LCS-25 is 25A so double sizing everything would mean a 50A breaker. 40A would be the required breaker for a 30-32A EVSE, which is fairly standard and is why I was suggesting that size. My panel actually has a 40A breaker for the 30A EVSE in the garage that I'll...

Help an indecisive person decide on an EVSE

Well I picked up an LCS-25, so that puts the dilemma to rest. One question about electrical code though... The LCS-25 delivers 20A continuous and required a 25A breaker. Would it be acceptable to have my electrician run wiring capable of 40A (8 AWG for example) and install a 40A breaker...

Help an indecisive person decide on an EVSE

Someone else had suggested this earlier in the thread. I like the idea, but I'd rather just save the hassle and buy an actual outdoor rated unit.

Nope it's 200A service, and I forgot to mention that this is one reason I was thinking it my be best to stick with a LCS-25 outside and remove the Schneider in the interim. I can also dial the Roadster down to a lower amperage if necessary, since I don't care how slow or fast that car charges...

Help an indecisive person decide on an EVSE

I'm starting to think it might make sense to just sell the Schneider 30A EVSE, and go for a Clipper Creek HCS-40 (32A) for the outside location. Then I'll have max charging capacity for the LEAF where it's normally parked, and I can just worry about what new EVSE to add inside the garage if and...

Help an indecisive person decide on an EVSE

So here's the situation... My first LEAF was parked in the garage, and I had a 30A Schneider Electric EVSE installed on the interior garage wall for that car. The LEAF lease ended and I replaced it with a Tesla Roadster. Instead of uninstalling the Schneider EVSE, I instead had a new circuit...

Hello again from a second time newbie. :)

Thanks for the compliment on the garage - it's a bit of an eclectic mix of new and old. :P I've been without the LEAF since January, when I had to return it at the end of the lease. I'd highly recommend the roadster over a Miata if you can swing it. :P

Hello again from a second time newbie. :)

I used to post here on the forum back when I leased a 2013 LEAF SL, and ultimately I thoroughly enjoyed the car in all respects. Once the lease ended I had to give the car back, and I had the itch to get back into a sports car so I picked up a Tesla Roadster. I love the Roadster but always...

    2015 Lease

Has anyone seen an opportunity to lease a 2015 SL for $249/mo or less? My 2013 lease is up in February 2015 and I'm thinking of just extending my lease if I can't beat the price with a new lease. Current lease was 24mo at $249/mo with only $960 down at signing and that included the first...

New plate for the LEAF here in North Carolina

I've definitely been seeing them on a regular basis. Parked next to a red one last night at dinner in Cary...Bella Mia Pizza rocks by the way. :)

New plate for the LEAF here in North Carolina

I've seen some really, really funny plates that used the symbols in interesting ways. I was somewhat tempted to get LOLZ@GAS. And as a pilot...I kinda like the cowardly statement. :)

New Wheels - 2011 Leaf SL with Weds Sport TC-005

I personally think the stock wheels look ten times better.
