I took the following from a different user who posted in 2021, I have the same exact issue but through extensive research, I am still not able to find any answers.

I'm trying to use the Nissan Map Update Tool to update my maps. I got instructions for both the USB update and WiFi update techniques from the Nissan Navigation site. The problem is that my console menu doesn't have the options they say I need to use.

The options when I'm displaying the map on the screen are supposed to include a "Connections" choice to link directly to my house WiFi or cell phone hotspot. It should be right in between the "Map" and "Settings" icons. Nope, I have "Map", Navi", "Settings". To prep the USB stick, I should be in the MENU screen, hit "Info", and should get a path that starts at "System Information" -> "Map Update" -> and then offers both updates by USB device, or Update by Smartphone or Wi-Fi hotspot (if I had the WiFi option in the first place). Also nope.

Has anybody managed to get through this on a 2019 Leaf (SV). Is there some secret mode I need to activate the right options? Or does the fact that my console has an SD card mean I need to buy updates on an SD card and should ignore the USB/WiFi instructions? I checked with my local dealer and got pointed to the same site from which I got the (so far) useless instructions.

Yeah...sounds like you're having a tough time with the map update options not showing up in your 2019 Leaf. Have you checked for software updates that might unlock those features.

This is something common, as far as I know. If you can't find specific settings, then it might be the system's software version. Unless you find an update, I don't think you should rely on this option anymore. The fact you have an SD card means the maps should be stored there, not on the infotainment's internal meaning. In this case, you need to find a way to do updates via SD card.

This might be obvious but I ignore the onboard navigation and plug my Android phone into my Leaf and use Android Auto to do navigation. It's always updated and works the same on all our vehicles.
