Hi Guys,

New member here, just bought the leaf 2018 on Friday from Scotland, drove back home (Leicester) and it was one of my toughest drives ever.

Good points, car drives perfect, very impressed with the handling, seats and quality of the car, very nippy, no noise,

Bad points, fast charging is more expensive than fuel, cost me £80 from 10 to 85%, left front window stopped working stuck open, car broke down after recharge, was not starting have to call RAC and he knew exactly how to fix, he charged the battery and clear the codes, apparently very common on these cars,

on next charge same issue happened again and have to wait for RAC nearly 7 hours on services, after googling i put new 12 V battery in, on next charge it will not charge over 60% and stopped with the message something like "charging stopped to stop any damage " message but car did start and i drove home.

Now why i am here, i need help sorting below issues.

- How can i fix the window, which is stuck down, i do hear a click when pressing down the button but no noise when trying to close

- Why my battery is not charging over 60 %

- What does this mean "Warning Service EV System Unable to restart after power off" (message when car was not starting after recharge)

Thanks

Sorry to hear of your troubles.

The ev system message is significant. could be high voltage leaking from the modules to the case. I'd be concerned that the car got flooded or otherwise damaged at some point.

I'd get the LeafSpy Pro app and a compatible OBD reader to get the diagnostic codes. Those codes will help diagnose the root of the issues.

That's actually a good thing: it discourages you from using that option. L3 charging stresses the traction battery, reducing its life.

I have a United Chargers of Canada Grizzl-E installed in my garage, with the charging cable passing through a small hole in the garage door jamb, and hung behind a ficus bush, to keep it from being a neighborhood eyesore, and I have the charging timer on my 2018 Leaf ("Millie") set to only accept charges between 23:30 and 06:30, in order to take advantage of off-peak rates. Even though it's on a 30A 240VAC circuit (with the maximum charge rate set appropriately in the Grizzl-E), I have never had the traction battery so low that I couldn't fully charge it overnight. And I've had the traction battery down to within no more than a few miles short of "turtling" the vehicle.

so far battery is charging fine with granny charger no issues , i can charge it 100 % no issue. i think the issue was the battery was getting really hot and i was charging it with fast charger also was driving continuously on the motorway. So far its looking good, full charge is showing me 133 miles .
