No wonder no one is trying to find a sensible answer to how we can achieve a better and safer interior climate in our Leaf before we start our journey on a cold morning. Nissan designers have not made it possible to preconfigure/deactivate air recirculation, before the CC is started remotely, is just stupid and very annoying.
This even comes with the patronizing and downright ridiculous argument about the climate system using less power in recirculate mode. To which extend is this argument correct...? As we know, it takes less energy to heat dry air.
When entering my internally fogged Nissan Leaf Tekna (Model 2020, 59kWh), 10 minutes after remote climate start, I must start the car and manually bring the air conditioning up to a non-circulating high-power consumption level… And wait a couple of minutes before I can start my journey to my job – even though the windshield is not yet completely clear of fog… And the car is forced to draw this energy from the battery. It couldn't possibly get any dumber.
It is patronizing that Nissan assesses that users of their cars are not able to take energy consumption into account.
