Apologies if my first thread is a question already answered elsewhere, please point me to relevant threads!
After sitting unused for three weeks (in fairly normal late summer Colorado weather) the charger door is stuck. A real bummer for our two month old, brand new (leased) car.
I can't get it open in any way. I've removed the plastic cover inside the engine compartment area, and can see and access the back of the charging area.
Things I've tried:
* Release button inside car, and on key fob (the three charging lights *do* blink each time
All tried while both whole not touching the charging door, as well as carefully but firmly pushing it in various places, I've tried:
* Pushing the spring loaded lever behind the charging door, just a little to the right (driver side) of the charging area (video attached)
* Prying with screwdriver in various places
* Disconnected battery, let sit for several minutes, reconnected
I don't see any dials or wheels to turn as some threads suggest. Nothing else seems to obviously move in a way that would actuate the charging compartment door. I'm attaching a video of the one, spring loaded, lever which does move freely when pressed, as shown in the video. The spring is intact.
I haven't fussed with fuses, as the three lights do blink and there is a beep, suggesting the fuse is good. The illumination light image the charging area does light up when I press to unlock (I can see it from the back side).
Most of the threads and videos I've found relate to older physical design of this charger hatch cover. This is the 2025, with the wider charging port door, which appears from the outside to be the physical design from 2021 forward (?).
It's a real pickle, because even with the car at 85% battery, I'm not in range to the nearest Nissan dealership (I live in rural Colorado, several hours from the Front Range). Even with the most conservative driving the car would have to be towed into a dealership for the last part.
Any help is welcome! Thanks!
