I'd bought my Nissan 2019 LEAF back in March 2022, and ever since then, it always properly give me the estimate time it takes to recharge the car using a Level 2 charger. Yet after servicing my LEAF at a dealer, I noticed the estimate time is now way off.

The company I work for have a Level 2 charger for employees to use. When I arrive at work at 4:30 AM, I mostly have 50% or so charge left, and the estimate time was always 4 hours or so, so this means it will take until 8:30 AM to 9:00 AM to fully charge the car. Yet in the past week, it keeps saying it will take until 11:40 AM to recharge. WTF?! Why?! What's odd is that after 1 hour after I start charging, I start and turn-off the car, and only then it displays the correct estimate time.

Why is this happening? My LEAF always gave me the correct estimate time before, yet now it does not at first but it will only after I start charging.

Can anyone help? Is there a setting that I need to change to get it back to normal? :(

The charge time estimator on my '19 requires that you select charging at 3.3 or 6.6 kw. Is there any chance you accidently changed the estimate to charging at 3.3 kw? In any case, you already know the most accurate estimate for this particular situation from actual charging experience at this site. Most of us find the same thing at home. Past experience with a specific situation is more precise than the charge time estimator.

I didn't touch anything. This happened on its own. Can you tell me how to change the charging from 3.3 to 6.6? What do I need to do?

Never mind. I found the settings to change it. Hopefully, this will resolve the issue.

That setting changes on its own based on the power made available by the last EVSE used. Not sure what the rules are though.

does the 2017/18 Leaf have a choice of 3.3KW and 6.6KW? it seems mine only has 3.3KW
I can't speak to non-US Leafs, but all gen 2 (model year '18+) Leafs for the US came with 6.6 kW on-board charger.

For US '17 Leaf (gen 1) , per Specs tab of https://usa.nissannews.com/en-US/re...abId=release-666a9369da174e41a0ad7473ad629a23, 6.6 kW OBC was optional, needed S trim with charge package or SV or SL trim. But, there's no UI on gen 1 Leafs to change the estimator. It should show you charge estimates automatically for 120 volt, and 240 volt "3 kW" and "6 kW" on 6.6 kW OBC cars. For 3.x kW cars, it shows only 2 estimates: 120 and 240 volts.
