I have OBD extension cables with an on/off rocker switch built in. Its long enough to go around the steering column once and the LELink hangs next to the start button--so you can see if its on or not. I just switch it on in the driveway and check the cell balance, then off again. I don't generally drive with it turned on either.

Hi,
I am wondering if it is safe, or even advisable, to drive with the LELink OBD2 connected all the time?
Yes, it is completely safe to drive with it connected. In fact, "A Better Route Planner" GPS software has an option for getting real-time battery status from LeafSpy via the OBD2 connection, while driving.

I would not leave it plugged in if you are going to let your car sit unused for a week. Or else use one of the OBD2 extension cables with an off switch; that's what I do.
