'Afternoon all. (Well, it is in West Wales).
A 2023 Nissan Leaf Tekna e+ has just replaced a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV that was our family car for just under 6 years. The all-e Leaf is a next step in an attempt to go fully-e via solar panels, house batteries and other such stuff, aiming at eventually getting off-grid. The Leaf was chosen not just because its all-e but because it had the V2X facility. Once a suitable charger/inverter comes along (one may appear in March 2025) we hope to add the 62 Kwh Leaf battery to the home batteries of 30 Kwh as a repository & source for the e from our 11+ Kwh solar arrays. Then there'll be only a small windmill or hydro generator to add.
The Leaf seems more of a sporty thing than the Mitsubishi Outlander, which was something of a wallower 'round the Welsh back roads. But it still has room for a collie & a corgi (and a ladywife) which is good since its main role will be as a dog-chariot to take them up to the Fforest Brechfa walk each day.
The Mitsubishi was used 97% on e (according to its lifetime log) as we only do short journeys. (We're immigrants from that England and don't want to go back there, thenk yew)! The Leaf is expected also to be a short-hopper - although the increased e-range might tempt us to go to South or even North Wales as well as about the West Wales hinterlands.

I have questions about this Leaf. They'll go into other posts.
Thank you for having me (not that kind of having).
