I just bought a 2011 SL for $650 and I love it. Heater not working and it’s chilly here in Oregon but I just wear my barn jacket and I am good. Happy new year!

At that price I would buy one and have it shipped here. That’s my kind of cheap.
About 1000 Canadian dollars plus shipping.

If it’s the heater element that’s a fairly cheap diy fix. We’re normally about 0 F this time of year a barn jacket isn’t going to defog the windshield.

Don't know in what world a Leaf (resistive) heater is a "cheap" fix; probably one of the most expensive (non) drive train related repairs on a Leaf. Just sayin'.

Similar situation here, PBJ - get a deep cycle 12v and a heated car blanket (plus a Harbor-Fright defroster for the windshield) and you won't even miss it. For colder temps, a big UPS, extra batteries and a space heater - as I couldn't be bothered with the effort of a small diesel heater.

I’m on the RAV4EV forum. It uses the original heater from the leaf. People are swapping them out with used ones frequently. Well as frequently as a car that there only is 2500 of them would need.

I started a topic here, years ago, called something like "Heater in a Box." It deals with using a separate storage battery, two personal sized 120 volt heaters in the driver's footwell,, and a small inverter to provide modest cabin heat.. You an also put in a larger capacity 12 volt battery and wire it directly to that.

I may have already suggested it, but search "Heater in a Box" (title search) and you will see how to provide modest heat to the driver's footwell area.
