Hi,

i have recently purchased a old Nissan Leaf from 2013 for short range driving in our town.

The overall look of the car of this age is nice, the interior is looking only slightly used. Mechanically is was maintained very well too. The 24kWh battery has only a SoH of 65%, but the range is sufficient and the cost was very low.

I am a hacker and love tinkering with car ECUs and I love the mods and diy solutions for the Leaf!

I already owend a Renault Zoe from 2020, phase 2 and I wrote the OVMS Integration for it and started upgrading it. It is not so easy as with old cars because of VIN locking and so one.
I found out some tweaks with DDT for the Zoe and modified the Easylink system for it, so I can use a locked one in my car.
I cannot pre-climate with the OVMS for Zoe atm, but I try to get it working, so nice the Leaf implementation is complete, great job!

Here are some sneak peaks:
https://git.bit-cloud.de/Crash_Override/Zoe_PH2_DDT_Mods (only German at the moment)
https://git.bit-cloud.de/Crash_Override/Easylink_CAN_Waker (Reverse engineering of Easylink system)

I also have a NIU electric scooter and reversed the CAN communication bedween ECU and the batteries:
https://git.bit-cloud.de/Crash_Override/NIU_CAN_BatteryChecker

Cheers

Happy new year Crash! Love your username. One of my favorite movies when it came out. Thank you for being part of the Leafy community and sharing your code. I am geeking out by seeing the other developers in the forum with excitement about this car.

I picked up a 2011 a few weeks ago for $650. Can not wait to start talking to it.

The fact that you were able to successfully implement other functions like Easylink modifications and DDT adjustments is a huge step forward, and will definitely help you expand your vehicle control and tracking capabilities. I hope you do!
