So Howdy folks my name at this here meeting is Zero Emissions! And this be the 2nd Nissan LEAF I have owned. This one is a 2017 that I got for under 4 grand with 89K miles but the miles are all from my town to the next town(49 miles each way) driven every day by the previous owner and it is all freeway miles, problem is now she’s at the 8 bar state in her life (where I'm at the 2 bar state) so I got the good deal for car still smells and looks like brand new. I got all my use tax and sales tax refunded from the state of Washington and the IRS is going to refund me the total cost of the vehicle so, I got the car for free! Then to add insult to injury I took it to my local Nissan dealer who poked and prodded her and said yep she needs a battery so they ordered a new upgraded from a 30KW to a 40KW battery all under warranty...Right on! The warranty is 100K miles or 8 years so she’s still under warranty to any owner even if your the 2nd 3rd or 4th owner! Nissan is paying for everything which they said is about nine grand and it won’t cost me a nickel...How cool is that! I guess this is all due to a class suit years ago mandating that Nissan has to warranty 19 thousand Leaf's for faulty battery issues! So check your dealer and remember some dealers are clueless so you must do their homework for them like I did...You know the squeaky wheel gets the grease!...Now if I could get that kind of deal on say a Ferrari or a Lamborghini then life would be really, really good. Anyhow nice to meet you all and so far I’ve done used your forum to rewire and install a real audio system with amped sub etc. At my age I feel the sound not hear it. it was funny that none of the local stereo guys would touch my beloved LEAF because it’s a EV plus I wanted to keep the stock radio in the dash and added another 10 inch screen with built-in dash front facing dash cam and all the bells and whistles...Apple car play screen copy large screen navigation etc. I must say though it was hard to find such low impedance gear to match Nissans 2 ohms setup. So...Nice to meet you all and just think we move about the planet without polluting and that's always a good thing right! Everybody now…Breath deep the gathering gloom watch lights fade in every exhaust plume…ok ok, I will keep my day job. Thank you all for doing your part to make this world a cleaner and better place for our kids and our pets too!

Oh you are so lucky to have such a great car for free. Personally, I love the design of the 2017 Nissan LEAF but I am still considering whether to buy it from a previous owner I saw for sale online. There is still a lot of risk in buying it.

This sounds strange but if it has less than 100K miles and 8 or less bars than you should be covered under warranty have the seller fully charge the vehicle and text you a pic of the dash if she has 8 bars and less than 87 miles of range then your a prime candidate for president...Oops...I mean for a new updated from a stock 30KW to a 40KW battery at no charge to you. Make sure the vehicle is in your name and register it at Nissan.com so they update you on the progress of your warranty claim. I'm in Seattle so the dealer is way backed up he's waiting for a bunch of 40KW batteries and I'm on about the middle of the list he says he gets 2 to 4 Batteries a week, so soon I will have more and longer lasting zoom zoom, who doesn't want that right! Happy hunting most LEAFS in the 17 and newer range are very low miles like under 35K miles and still smelling fresh and new! Side Note: Once you get your new LEAF you will still find yourself pulling into gas stations to gets a drink and snacks and the occasional odd stare from the people pumping gas as you pull up to the pump!

Zero emissions and zero out of pocket? How CAN'T you celebrate that? Very clever take-off lyric from "Nights in White Satin" and SO very much apropos.
