Hi all,
I am the West Coast Operations and Relations Lead for dcbel, LLC. - www.dcbel.energy
The value (to your life) of your 2017 and newer Nissan Leaf's is about to improve exponentially! Dcbel has developed the World's First solar inverter + 2 port bidirectional EV charger + Home Energy Management (HEMS) system. This will allow your solar to directly DC charge for Leaf, VERY fast (one mile per minute) and then enable your Leaf to power your home and/or export your stored energy to the grid. This means you can power your home with your Leaf during blackout for for "peak-shaving", and also monetize your Leaf as it sits stationary in your garage or driveway 95% of the time, by exporting energy to the grid a t "peak time of use"! You can also charge 2 EV's at the same time.
The dcbel "Ara", (that is it's name), is the first DC bidirectional charging system to be certified in North America! :-D
I have owned my 2011 Nissan Leaf for 12 years now, and plan to upgrade to a newer bidirectional enabled (12017 or newer) model very soon. We are partnered with Nissan, Volvo, and LG Energy (for an optional stationary battery) currently. Stay tuned for more partnership announcements, as we are "EV agnostic"... we can support any EV OEM that wishes to enable their vehicles!
The implications of this technology is vast, and it has the potential to rapidly decarbonize the built environment, transportation, and energy sectors simultaneously!
Cheers to a brighter, cleaner, and more powerful future ahead~!
