Not sure if this will be of interest to anyone here, but as this community has been such a great source of information to me, I wanted to give something back.

I have a bunch of videos and pictures that I took as I disassembled the Leaf drive unit I am using in an EV conversion.

I figured i would share these here in case they are of use to anyone.

The drive unit is a 2nd generation one from 2014 with the components in a single stack and the EM57 motor.

The videos of the inverter are here:

And the PDM/Charger are here:

I'll upload the photos in a follow up post. I hope somone out there finds this stuff as fascinating as I have.

Let me know if there is anything i can do to help your topic (if there are any specific pictures or videos you need i can try to take them.)

It took a while, but I finally got around to taking a look inside the Leaf Gen 2 gearbox.

Hope this is of interest to some of you.

At the 1:24 mark of this video:

I noticed the external plug that has the 12v/CAN/resolver wires. Is that easy to get a hold of? Does anybody have a link to a place I can order that?

Is that the cover plug for the connection to the Drive Inverter below the PDM? i think there is a microswitch in the lower plenum of the PDM in that location.

The microswitch is mounted to the bottom coverScreenshot 2024-12-04 at 9.31.21 AM.png
May have to trim the plastic off the tapered section of the plug so the dowel rod can compress the switch. Or extend the length of the dowel rod, weld plastic or epoxy. Lubricate the oring so the plug slides in easily. Examine and clean the flange surface, etc. Whatever it takes to extend the dowel to contact the switch.

You are installing the plug with the UP arrow pointing up?
