I’m new to this forum but not new to EVs. I’ve been a big fan of electric vehicles for a while and have been running an EV YouTube show (EV Revolution Show) for over two years now. I made the switch and got myself a 2018 Leaf instead of a Model 3, mostly for budget reasons, but I’m loving it so far!

I’m based in South Carolina and would love to connect with fellow Leaf owners. If you’re new to the Leaf or just EVs in general, feel free to share your thoughts, ask questions, or post some pics of your ride. I’m hoping to gather a group of Leaf owners in the area for a meet-up and maybe a scenic drive. We’ve got some beautiful roads here it would be perfect for an EV cruise! Who else is rocking a 2018 Leaf, and what’s your experience been like? 😎

Welcome to the forum! I’ve been loving my Leaf as well, it’s been my second best decision this year...and yeah, connecting with other Leaf owners sounds great, I am not in South Carolina but I’d love to hear about your scenic drives.

Welcome to the Leaf family and this community. I am a 2018 SL owner, had the car since new. After just over 6 years of ownership and 180,000 KMs (112,000 miles), I still have all 12 bars and my SOH is >84%. I have had zero issues with the car and it has never been back to the dealership for anything other than a couple of minor recalls. I do all my own maintenance on it and I stay on top of that. My front brakes have 75% remaining and the rears have 50%. I am still riding on the original Michelin Energy Saver tires but this will be the last season on them. The body is in mint condition and is indistinguishable from new condition. The only thing wrong with this car is it is completely unsuitable for long distance. Take good care of yours and I’m sure you will be just as happy with it.
PS if you don’t know the maintenance records of your Leaf, assume nothing was done and do it all. Service your brake sliders, flush and fill the brake fluid, change the gear reduction box oil and replace the front axle nuts if your getting the famous axle click noice from the front. Also check the level on the inverter coolant to make sure it is up. There are lots of helpful tutorials here and on YouTube if you are mechanical inclined and if not, any competent repair shop can do all of this work for you. You do not need to take it to Nissan for any of the above listed repairs. Enjoy your Leaf. I’ve had many muscle cars in my day but none of them (with the possible exception of my custom built V8 Chevy Vega) were as much fun to drive as my Leaf is.

It's great to hear that you're enjoying your 2018 Leaf! Organizing meet-ups with fellow EV enthusiasts sounds like a fantastic idea, especially in such a scenic area. The Leaf is an excellent vehicle for both daily driving and longer scenic trips. How have you found the range and performance of the Leaf in your area, especially on those beautiful drives?

I am a life long hypermiler so I still can beat the factory estimates for range on a 6 yo battery. I bought it for exactly that: commuting and scenic country drives and it has exceeded my expectations for both
