Muxsan went bankrupt

Just goes to show you that technology isn't always enough: there has to be (sufficient) demand for the product.
I would say his prices where to high: and then I have heard, that it was hard to get in contact with them. But most likely, with the current EV market? Adding € 15.000 into an extender, is just stupid....

Even if your Leaf would only catch € 10.000 or even less? If you add € 15.000 on top of that, you can find a decent used Tesla Model 3 for that money. So why spent to much money, on an extender?

Probably the car insurance, wouldn't cover the extender either. For now there isn't much know, for why Muxsan went bankrupt. Because he doesn't tell anything about it, only I noticed his website still being online. But on Google Maps he is marked, as permanently closed.

He (?) may need to stay off the radar. Bankruptcies are for protection from creditors, and some can be very unhappy.
He told on Tweakers.net that he doesn't own any private persons money: he can't say much about the bankruptcy though, and most likely needs to keep the real reason secret.

But he named, aftersales was one of the issues and they didn't get any orders anymore. So they weren't profitable anymore. Much more then this I don't really know.

The market for an upgraded liquid cooled battery pack for the Leaf could be quite large. Overall, Leaf is very well designed--but the ancient battery pack technology need a refresh.
I doubt that: what if they break down? One of the issues mister @mux had is several of his extenders broke down, and according to the reviews. The aftersales wasn't very good, for example he wouldn't reply on emails.

What then? We all know Nissan's aftersales isn't the best, but if you meet the requirement for battery replacement under warranty. Then generally they will honour it, although some dealers are worse then others.

A aftermarket battery pack, will only be a good business if it's affordable: why spend € 10.000 on a vehicle, that probably isn't even worth that amount? I rather keep driving with the Leaf, keep it long enough until I saved up enough for a newer EV.

That is one philosophy for sure! But some of us like keeping our hardware going as long as possible rather than trading around; once I have worked on a machine long enough, I sort of have a relationship with it and like being with it. I still miss my 510s and 2002s. Rusted away.

Sure, but then I would just wanna keep driving with the original battery pack. Even its down to 70% SoH.

It's unfortunate to hear that Muxsan went bankrupt and their aftermarket battery pack won’t be released. It’s tough news for people who were looking forward to an affordable option for battery upgrades. Hopefully, another company steps in to fill that gap. For now, it’s always good to keep an eye on reliable alternatives. I had a similar experience when dealing with dfcu financial customer service for a different issue—sometimes things just don’t go as planned, but there’s usually another way to solve the problem.

That suxks. I loved what they were doing.
Plus it sucks if you paid to have a battery delivered and it’s not arriving. As a customer you have a higher claim than most other creditors so the chances of getting some of you money back are high. Got to make a stink though or it’s possible you’ll get nothing. Other creditors will be happy to take your money. And possibly already have.
