Nissan SPY -w=ive not yet used it -waht does it tell me that i might want to know. Should I GOOGLE Nissan spy ?
It's called Leaf Spy, and you use it with a Bluetooth or WiFi OBD2 dongle connected to your car. Search for OBD on this forum to find people talking about it in other threads, with one of the threads having a running list of dongles that work with Leaf Spy. It's an app for Android (free/paid) and iPhone (paid only).

It can tell you quite a few things, most important being the State of Health/SOH (Health Percentage) of your battery, and it's HX rating percentage. Both are indicators of the health of your traction (main) battery. Others have more info on exactly what HX is measuring and representing, but in both cases, higher is better.

Another useful piece of info would be using the app to determine the relative charge level of each cell in your traction (main) battery. This is helpful in case one cell is (significantly) worse than the rest, and you may be able to leverage a battery replacement using that information as proof. Granted, you'd still need to be within the warranty for your model year.

Leafspy is a diagnostic tool, it has a limited ability to change settings and pairings. That said, it does let you look at cell balance and DTC's which I find to be its greatest use.
As a "pre-buy" inspection of a vehicle, it would be valuable also. in most cases there are other ways to determine the important stuff, not a requirement, but a recommendation for looking at used Leafs. Again it is the cell balance and number of quick charges, along with SOH that are of most value.
