Good day all,

I've been lurking on this forum a bit. I am looking to get a Leaf for my work commute. 60 miles round trip.
I found a 2019 plus with 112,000 miles on it. before rebates, down payment and everything, they are asking $13,200.
With $1K down and $3477 ev credit I'd be financing $8723 for 48mo at 7.5%. I'm in California.
I plugged in Leafspy lite on the test drive just to get an idea of what was happening.
At 91% SOC it's showing a SOH-81%, Hx-63.7, 78-QCs 1696-L1/L2. Might have been sitting charged on the lot a while.
at rest I'm seeing 14mv. On a brief hearty acceleration I saw 58mv. Overall, the pack looks fairly even.
Understanding that issues may show better at less charge, I don't have that opportunity due to being at a dealer.
Nothing felt glaringly off on the drive. Was stuck in some traffic around the dealership though so I couldn't get up too much speed.

My concern is the mileage, being out of factory warranty and other issues that might be coming up post-100K miles.
It is CPO with a 4mo/4K mile "warranty" which is better than nothing.

I might be able to get them to knock off another $1500.

What would opinions be on this deal?
Anything I should be concerned about?
Anything I should do to help my confidence on this?

Thanks in advance!
Marc

Edit: Free 240v charging at work daily if needed. Commute is mostly freeway but on the way home is usually in stop&go traffic.

Sounds good enough. I'd check the vehicle history to see where it lived before (rustbelt? coastal?) and to ensure it wasn't flooded, salvaged or otherwise taken out of service for an extended period of time.

Miles don't mean much to these cars. Not like ICE cars anyway. Rust will still be rust and shocks, brakes and bushings will be the same, but the notion of a high mileage EV isn't high on the list of concerns for me.

Hey, thanks for the reply and the insight!

That's kind of what I was thinking as far as the mileage goes too.
It was originally purchased and driven as a commuter in southern California.
The Carfax shows a "damage" but not an accident. Apparently it was the driver's door that got dented and it got noted on the Carfax as damage. No accidents and the title is clean.
I'd love to get the wheels off the ground and check suspension, steering and brake bits. Maybe I can shmoooze the service dept.

This will be my first electric car.

I've always been electric-curious and drawn to it. Just never took the step!

You might get bored... There ain't much to do to these but drive em, but they're fun to drive.

I commute 100mi r/t a few days a week. Plug it in at night, and go go go in the morning. (I can L2 charge at work if I want.)

The Plus (big battery) is the ticket... go as fast (or slow) as you want, make small side trips... no (or few) range concerns.

Haha I won't get bored of saving $350+ a month in fuel.
The couple Leafs (Leaves? Leafi?) I've driven were very comfortable, quiet and the Leaf-plus I drove was peppy.
All the controls feel intuitive and are in good locations. I like that the info-tainment screen doesn't dominate the dash.
Big part of this decision is I have unlimited L2 charging at work for free.

My daily to this point is a 2000 Lexus LS400.
Comfort-wise it's a high bar.

Again, very thankful for the input!

Taking the plunge into EVs is a bit scary -- it's a different world -- but I bought a new Leaf 2+ years ago and couldn't be happier. It's the perfect car for a commute like yours, and you'll save a ton of money on gas, especially in California. I have no experience with older Leafs, but your deal sounds like a bargain. If the Leaf doesn't work out for you, you can always sell it!
