Here is a cautionary tale about what can happen with GPS based taxation. While this wasn't GPS based, it is the same effect, where going from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, where tax rates can change depending on road or route and aren't posted before hand so you know what you are getting into.

Many toll roads if not all, have got away toll booths and paper tickets showing the cost. I avoid traveling on them because of it. Especially when towing a trailer.
