I know there are shops o plenty in OR, CA, North East... But Mid Atlantic not so much. I have 4 Nissan dealers within a 30 mile radius. Dealer will not do this kind of swap (I think correct me if I am wrong).

I am looking for a 40 kWh battery to upgrade my 24 kWh.... It makes no sense to get a battery if I can not get it installed. I watched thee YouTube videos and I think I could DIY it, and may end up having to do that.

Willing to transport car and battery (tow) to and from... OR, CA too far. I figure, OK, TX, FL, GA, MS, NC, KY, IL, AR, AL...
GreenTek has reduced their 40KW price to $9,000 including the $1000 installation cost and guranteeing 85% SOC. You can keep the old battery for $500 additional. They told me that earlier problems with the canbus have been worked out so most of the dashboard infor is shown crorrectly. I am wondering if anyone has done this? What was the result?

Been awhile since I visited this thread I started. Thank you for the updates. $9000 is better. I did talk to them North of Nashville, TN

I think I am not going to be an EV owner much longer. The state has upped EV penalty from $100 to $200. If this is to recoup gas tax, this is 7 times what I'd pay for a similar gas econ car the same distance I drive a yearly.

2022 they raised gas tax per Gal 26 to 27.4 cents (1%). In 2024 for EV's 100 to 200 (100% increase). How is that fair, reasonable, equitable. Not to mention I pay about $30 in electrical tax to charge the car each year (about 3000 miles). Just total rip off. Plus insurance.... Also tag went up x3. Insurance is up. The LEAF is a second car and a luxury. My other car is a Turbo Diesel VW TDI and gets 50mpg on highway. But not great for the car to drive short distance driving, running errands.

I love the little LEAF for putting around local get groceries, go to nearby park, but 75 mi range is a bit of a chore. I love NOT having to go to gas stations all the time, no oil changes, all good..... But spending $9,000 on a $4000 car is not value added. It would increase value but not $9,000. Having TWO cars, insurance, tags, EV penalty I am done.

State thinks they just increased revenue $1.3M from a constituent group that is passive and does not vote they are wrong.... Mandate 2035 all cars sold must be EV... really did they think it through. What will the EV tax be? I am parking the LEAF end of year and not renewing tags. I will decide to sell it or keep it as is. Battery upgrade? Not looking like I will do it at this time.
