Should I buy a brand new Leaf

You could think of the chademo/ccs adapter like a spare tire...

Spare tire: check the pressure periodically​

Adapter: check the web for firmware updates​

(Irony here is that the stock Leaf does not include a spare tire. )

Checking the tire pressure sounds like a good idea. However, I wait for the TPMS to tell me when something’s amiss. On my outback, TPMS tells me that a tire is low, but not which one. The LEAF tells me which tire, although I’ve never had a problem yet with the OEM tires on the LEAF (knock on wood… knocking on head).

ProTip: Some Leafs will toot the horn when inflating a tire, to indicate the pressure is correct.
