Looking at a used 2019 leaf e+ in the UK - it’s a super high mileage one - 144k miles on the clock! (used as Uber)

But what’s tempting me is the price (very reasonable) combined with the fact that the battery is showing as all 12 notches full in the menu.

Is this even possible with that amount of miles, or has it been hacked?

It drives fine, and when I viewed it, it was at around 12% charged with something like 26 miles of range showing.

Am just nervous to purchase because I already have a 2013 leaf and that’s lost 4 bars of charge after only 80k miles on the clock, so am shocked to see a car with 140k miles on the clock still showing a full 12 notches.

Unfortunately don’t have leaf spy, but perhaps the battery has lasted so well because of the British weather and hasn’t been rapid charged very often.

Purchase or walk away?

The first part of the battery health gauge doesn't come off until around 15% to 20% has been lost.

With what I have learned after buying my Leaf, I wouldn't buy one in the future without LeafSpy.

I'll say it again for anyone who reads this thread in the future: never buy a used Leaf without a LeafSpy reading.
Might work for other EVs (although battery packs are by far the most critical part of an EV), but not for a Leaf--not to mention LeafSpy is a readily available (and cost-effective) method to check battery health. It's not just about the AHr, it's about the balancing.

That's a lot of usage on the car, which could easily go either way-- could be great if their claims are true and there were few fast charges, or it could be a disaster if the BMS was reset and the 12 bars are fake.

Fortunately, there is a ridiculously easy fix for that. It's just a few pounds of insurance.

Purchase or walk away?
Get leaf spy, or walk away.

Beware of BMS reset. There was a patch for the 30kwh battery that would put you back at 12 bars ... long enough for a dishonest dealer or other seller to make you think you have more bars than you really do.
