As some of you have read, I have been struggling with using NACS->J1772 adapters with the local city-provided Tesla NACS EVSEs. The J1772 EVSEs of the same vintage work fine.

All the city's devices were installed in 2020 and are the the same basic vintage. As best I can determine, they all all Gen1 Wall Connectors.

Yesterday I was able to charge using two example Gen1 Wall Connectors at one site. The TPNs ended in -E and -G.

EvDance 60A adapter:
Plug and play with both EVSEs. In other words, plug the adapter into the Tesla NACS, plug the J1772 end into the Leaf, and charge just like it was a native J1772 EVSE.

Lectron 40A Refurbished (older generation)
Works on both IF I prevent initial charging... easiest is

1) Charge timer set to future, like the next morning
2) plug adapter into EVSE then car
3) wait a bit until standby sequence on dash LEDs
4) press timer OFF (immediate Charge) button

I got this from eBay so don't really have a permalink, although others are available from the same vendor (lopanton007, Orlando, FL)

Fizzenergi works if the following "magic dance" sequence is followed:

1) Make sure you have a charge timer set in the future (like, the next morning)
2) Turn ON CAR, in Park
3) Connect adapter to NACS and to Leaf
4) Turn OFF CAR
5) Standby sequence should start on dash LEDS (one LED lit at a time, chasing through the 3 LEDs)
6) Turn timer OFF (press the Immediate Charge button). Charging should start now.

E-KITE by Stoke Voltaics: works like Fizzenergi, same sequence.

The trick here is to avoid the red light in the center of the EVSE LEDs. The EVSE has rejected the connection to the vehicle as invalid if you see this, and the only way to clear it is to unplug. You want the green light at the top of the LEDs, until charge is actually started and that green light starts scrolling. If you get to the red light, you may have left out a step or this magic dance is not suitable for the revision of the EVSE.

N.B. The magic dance sequence is based on Wink's original post here.
