Here is mine: 2016 Leaf SL bought used 51K miles. Currently at dealer since 5/30/23. Dealer says 6 months and are putting me in a rental. On other forums I am hearing that Nissan is initiating a buyback after a few months. Nissan is providing a loaner to me so I am hoping that will expediate this a little.
1. I do not want a buyback.
2. I am in Illinois and there are no Lemon laws for used cars.
3. I am dreading them keeping the car for 6 months. Thinking of flat spots in tires, brake rust and mice infestation since it will be sitting out.

It would have to be a 30kWh pack since the 24kWh packs only came with a 5 year warranty.

For 24 kwh battery: 5 year/60,000 miles on the capacity, 8 year/100,000 miles on "defects in materials or workmanship". Could have been either a 30 kwh capacity loss, 30 kwh defect, or 24 kwh defect. If the pack is just worn out, then Nissan would have to install a new pack--which they may be short on. If the pack has a bad cell, they could of course choose to fix it.

Mitral, I feel your pain. My experience with our local dealers on a similar issue was abysmal. Nice people to speak with, but I came away feeling expertly gas lighted. What i have learned on this forum is there is a well-populated bell curve of Nissan EV services ranging from white glove all the way to, yeah, that. If you have the option, try some more dealerships.

Our Nissan dealer never offered us a loaner, so I guess you're lucky there. I'd probably decide it was a great time to tour the National Parks of the West if I was given a loaner for six months. :)

We're now on month 8 of waiting for a new battery, and our dealership still can't get an ETA from Nissan.

A little different: BC, Canada warranty claim on a US vehicle (SoCal 2016 SV with 30 kWh battery). Purchased the car at 8 bars with 63% SoH and immediately turned around to get the claim going

Took about 2 full days and then a week of leaving the car at dealer to get an OK from Nissan Canada to go ahead (original estimate 6-8 weeks to get the parts, I was skeptical as US reports had it at 5-6 months on reddit already)

Left car at dealer for 2 months but took it back when they still had no ETA, had to clean some mildew issues since it was left out in the rain.

Waiting since Feb, dealer has another car still waiting since Dec

We signed the repurchase agreement from Nissan for our 2017 Nissan Leaf SV because nobody can tell me when the replacement battery will arrive and I am hearing that it is taking longer than 8 months. Nissan uses Morley VSPC for the vehicle transfer. Nissan says that Morley VSPC will provide the check. Anybody heard of Morley VSPC? Are they legit. How do I know the check will clear?

Morley, at least for GM is legit. I chimed in at https://www.chevybolt.org/threads/beware-the-gm-buyback-program.42785/#post-699311. Ignore the OP claiming they're a scam.

You can find more by Googling for these, for example:
site:chevybolt.org morley rvdc
site:chevybolt.org morley repurchase

A bunch of us got our recalled Bolts bought back. I don't have a copy of my check handy, but IIRC, it was from GM's account, not Morley's.

Can you share if you bought the car new or used? How many miles? Can you share what nissan offered?

2017 SV bought in 2018 with 5600 miles. Nissan offered original sales price plus interest for auto loan minus 3000 for usage/miles 50K. Equals $17500 buyback.

If I'm reading this right, they deducted you 6 cents/mile. That correct?

50,000 miles x .06 = $3000

Are you willing to say what state you live in as state laws could potentially influence the buyback number.

My turn.

Here's the thread that I've been keeping showing the progress of degradation: https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=632060#p632060

This morning I called the dealership that I purchased the car from and made an appointment with one of the certified EV techs for 6/21/23. I'll report back the experience. I expect it to be smooth as this particular dealership has a good EV tech.

Anyone seen reports across social media of a 40kW pack being put in or is everything a buyback? Buyback is what I've seen so just validating. This would be just fine with me and likely then would push me to contact Nissan CA as soon as the week of June 26th to push for the buyback process to begin.

As milestones happened, I updated my journey in this thread to its conclusion.

In this thread (https://mynissanleaf.com/viewtopic.php?p=631830#p631830) you reference arbitration/buyback. Did you choose to stay patient for a new battery or are you still pursuing buyback?

Got my Biweekly call from the dealer. No update yet as anticipated. I wonder how long till nissan calls as I am in a loaner from the dealer. It's a 20sl plus. I am sure it's costing nissan a 1000 bucks a month to give me a loaner.

I started the process but kept my Leaf. Makes me wonder if I should request a loaner instead - maybe I could drive a new Leaf or Ariya for a few months. Anyone push for a loaner that wasn't offered one? I'm not sure how much leverage I have. It wouldn't be fair to give me an ICE vehicle, which would cost me a lot more, because they're slow to honor the Leaf warranty.

My appointment went smooth. I had called Nissan CA and got case number established prior to showing up at the dealer. Out of abundance of caution they kept my Leaf for 24 hours to ensure they got everything Nissan Corporate wanted and took the Nissan CA case number from me. While they had my Leaf they provided me a Sentra (I was told that I was on the hook for the gas) - no option for EV loaner.

Net net is that I'm officially approved for battery pack replacement and continue to drive the Leaf in it's degraded capacity state. The lead time according to the dealership was 6 - 9 months. In addition, I received a JCASE number and a repair order number from the dealership.

When I called Nissan CA prior to the dealer appointment I was told to call back into Nissan CA once the dealership confirmed capacity warranty - which I did. The Nissan CA rep I spoke with confirmed the dealership address and let me know that this is now a 'backorder' case and I should expect a call from a 'Regional consumer affairs specialist' tomorrow to further establish timelines/expectations.

I keep re-iterating to everyone in writing and verbally that 6 - 9 months is 'excessive' and that come winter the car is basically not drivable due to resistance across the degraded pack which could (would?) leave me stranded on the side of the road.

My 2016 30 kwh got a new battery pack, 40kwh upgrade Feb 2022. I love it. Now a legit 140-150 mile range, such that I now charge to 80% mostly to extend the 40 kwh battery life.

BUT, if someone had offered me $17500 for it, I might have considered, but not for much less. I am worried that the "buyback" program will not be offering what the vehicle *would* be worth with a new 40kwh battery.

Just my thoughts.....
