Touchscreen Ghost

We have an ancient LEAF (a 2011 that just had its 4th battery installed). The touchscreen has developed a ghost. When the car is off, the touchscreen opens and closes continuously....like, it's opened and closed on its own all night long. It doesn't do it when the car is running. Took the car to the dealer; they did a restart of the vehicle. That fixed the problem for a few hours, but it just started again. The dealer said that if the restart didn't work, they'd have to replace the screen.

We're absolutely fine if we disable the screen tilt, and find a way to disable that "OPEN/TILT" button, which is obviously failing. But, the dealer says there's no way to do that.

Anyone have any brilliant ideas?

Very low-tech temporary solution: duct-tape holding the button down. That works...for now. Would like something slightly more permanent.
