Tow ball for a Leaf in the UK

Has anyone in the UK with a later model Leaf fitted a towing ball to their Leaf? Is there an approved process or attachment point?

I read the threads about towing but I don't really want to tow, just mount a bicycle or other carrier on a tow ball. Those other threads suggest that a tow ball can be fitted although most posters seemed to be talking about the USA and other locations not-UK. Any advice about fitting a tow ball to a Leaf and who can do it in the UK would be welcome.

Some countries seem to have a Nissan-specified Leaf towing limit of 1500 lbs whilst in other countries towing with a Leaf at all is discouraged by Nissan and may even be illegal. Does anyone know what the legal and/or Nissan position is about towing with a Leaf in the UK?

I stayed in UK for most of this year, but I haven't seen many UK Leafs with tow balls, and you're right that Nissan isn't too keen on towing with a Leaf there, though, probably why it's a bit tricky to get a clear answer. For just a bike rack, you might be in luck. I'd check with local tow bar installers to see if they can help.
