Been pondering a question recently. I have a 2022 Leaf S with less than 11k miles. I noticed that a local dealership has a 2019 SV+ with 41k miles. With the rebate for a used EV and an offer from Carvana for my current Leaf, I think I would end up about $1k out of pocket after taxes and stuff.

Does it make sense to go for a larger battery and better/more technology? Or is it too much of a risk with an unknown vehicle with substantially more miles?

It’s a trade-off between upgrading for a larger battery and advanced technology versus taking on more miles and a bit more risk with an older vehicle. If the range and tech are very important to you and you can ensure the 2019 SV+ has been well-maintained with a good battery health score, it might be worth the upgrade. However, if you prioritize reliability and low mileage, sticking with your newer Leaf may make more sense.

Consider getting a battery health report on the 2019 SV+ and reviewing the warranty status before making a final decision.

If you mean the one from the dealership, don't bother. It has almost no useful information. If you mean the info from LeafSpy Pro, then certainly, yes.
