Before trying to describe this, I'll make clear that I've been driving the car almost 8 months and it's happened exactly three times. So I can't replicate it at will, and my description may be not that helpful. If anyone asks me a question that requires listening for it again, it might be months before I have another chance.

Sill, I'm wondering if this sounds familiar to anyone:

While slowing and beginning a low speed left turn (10 mph maybe?) on good paved streets, there will be a startling noise in the right front corner of the car and a moment of sudden deceleration. The noise might be described as grinding or ratcheting, but it hasn't quite sounded like metal on metal to me. I could even believe it was a strong burst of anti-lock braking being automatically applied to one wheel. Each time the symptom went away within a fraction of a second, the car rolled freely again, and I was able to check behind me to make sure I didn't just come across some kind of road hazard. In each case the road was clean.

On at least one of these occasions, a message flashed briefly on the console. I am not sure of the exact words but it was something like "not available: poor conditions" without telling me *what* exactly was not available. It could have meant the ProPilot system, I guess. The most recent time this happened (yesterday) I didn't see a message on the screen. It's possible ProPilot wasn't switched on at the time.

I have that message occasionally in a particular point of my everyday travel for the work. The street in that point has little holes, and sometimes i see that message and hear ststrage sound for a fraction of sencond. I think that is all ok.

I'll add to this. I have heard this twice as well from the front right tire. Once definitely turning left very sharp and I was accelerating from very slow to faster to get out of someone's way as I turned into a parking lot isle. I was near a curb, but not close enough to hit it, but the noise was so startling that I got out after I parked to check for damage. I then just assumed that the car thought I was spinning and hit the anti-lock brakes. It's possible accelerating on a hard left I hit a stone and there was a sudden perceived speed up but I wouldn't say that the wheel slipped. The Leaf IMO is very sensitive to wheel vibration. On any rough or bumpy road I frequently lose regen breaking because the car thinks something is going wrong and it might slip.
