A friend of mine is still checking which EV to buy and is particularly interested in the 2023 Leaf, specifically the SV Plus trim. She found conflicting information online, some sites claim it has a 62 kW battery like the 2022 model, while others say it has a 60 kW battery. Given that Nissan made minimal changes with the 2023 refresh, it seems odd that they would change the battery size for the upper trim. Does anyone know the correct battery size?

AFAIK, the 2018 and later models only have two battery capacities: 40 kWh and the bigger one which comes with the "Plus" models. Call it 60, 61, 62, 63, LXIII (;) ), they're all referring to the same bigger capacity pack which is indeed around 60 kWh.

As I understand it, there are only two battery sizes available in the generation 2 LEAF - the 40KWH and the 62/60 KWH. I don't believe there is any physical difference between the Plus batteries in different years. Nissan has changed the rating and some of the programming in the Plus batteries. The recent recall is likely to lead to additional programming changes.

Nissan has adjusted marketing info to address "useable" capacity over the years. Regardless, 2 kWh is not going to make a difference either way. Decide on the car you want based on features...and buy the largest battery pack size you can afford (it will pay off in the long run).
yeah...it makes sense to focus on the features that matter most and go for the largest battery size within your budget. At the end of the day, having a bit more range can definitely be beneficial.

Battery capacity is measured in kWh, not kW.
I wonder if anyone failed to understand the question?
At https://mynissanleaf.com/threads/62kw-battery-balancing.34097/#post-630781, I point to a perfect example at https://mynissanleaf.com/threads/100-kw-chademo-more-and-more-coming-online.29461/page-2#post-564743 of someone who didn't know the difference between kW and kWh. He made nonsensical statements like "A 100kW battery at a 90kWh supercharger will have a slower charge than a 55kW battery at a 60kWh tier 1 limited supercharger." Look at the "TMC" threads I pointed to.

I could understand newbies to EVs being confused/not knowing the difference but that person had a BEV since at least Dec 2010 and didn't understand the difference in Jan 2017.
