Perhaps they should change the name from Michael Faraday to Mark Twain.

Rumors of their death have been spread for years. Most of it is just click bait articles that are written to attract views and don't have any firsthand knowledge of the company.

But I agree that their situation does not look good. Odds of pulling out are not great.

I think a better analogy is the running gag on SNL Weekend Update during the original cast period. "Generalissimo Francisco Franco is reportedly still dead...."

Faraday Future - Byton - Evergrande, First Auto Works?? All the same EV? Who owns and where manufactured (if ever)?

The Byton EV sure appeared to be a ground breaker (iphone on wheels?)

First to admit that I don't know the genesis of Faraday Future's EV, but they all seem to be tied up together with Chinese ownership.

Founder of Electric Vehicle Startup Faraday Files Bankruptcy

(Bloomberg) -- Jia Yueting, an entrepreneur who ran up billions of dollars in personal debts trying to build a business empire in China, has filed for bankruptcy in the U.S. with plans to turn over his latest venture, an electric vehicle startup, to creditors.

In a proposed debt-restructuring plan filed in federal court in Wilmington, Delaware, Jia will use his ownership stake in Los Angeles-based Faraday & Future Inc. to set up a creditor trust to repay his debts...

2-3-2020 is when he wants to see the first consumer cars on the road and a range of 350 miles, absolutely no mention of price in the 9-minute video....

Record-breaking Faraday Future prototype EVs are up for auction

From the pictures, it looks like they also sourced much of the (bare) interior from Mercedes, since all the steering column, stalks and window controls are very similar to my Model S.

The WSJ has an article that Faraday Future is going public via a SPAC.

Faraday is among the latest examples of an electric-vehicle startup without a clear record of success to raise hundreds of millions in capital and go public largely based on a vision of the future of transportation, owing to the booming popularity of an investment structure called special-purpose acquisition companies, or SPACs.

Odd how long these ghost companies linger

Still waiting for Faraday Failure to go dark

As the OP for this thread is Jan 4th.......20216! over 5 years ago, I'm inclined to agree with you :)
So many potential EV companies always seem to have something, just around the corner

We'll. We do have something coming. It's been a long hard path. The product is the real deal. Previous leadership did not get us to the finish line but current leadership is top notch and will get us there.

No but Aptera will start delivering cars within a year, according to their website. Not sure what this has to do with Faraday Future.

Faraday Future is prominent in this video. https://youtu.be/a6zvvlrd-jw

^^^ nice, really like his comments. I'm somewhat in the same boat with Toyota and their Rav4 Prime.....I put $500 down(not all that much IMO) about a year and a half ago and still no vehicle. Now to be fair I was told to expect to wait 2 years and the sales guy really stressed this so I can't really complain yet, but as our '07 Prius is getting older by the day(now some weird intermittent electrical problems are popping up, but otherwise it's been extremely reliable) I sure want that Prime.
Now Toyota isn't a startup like most of the vehicles mentioned in the video but like the vehicles mentioned towards the end of the video, I suppose the Prime is cutting edge. What does bother me the most is how these mfgs. and even big names like Toyota, Hyundai, Tesla, GM, etc, etc, come up with these ideas and somewhat sell them as really available.....until you really want one and then find while they have lots of other models the dealer will and really wants to sell you, the one you came in for is years off, if ever :(
Maybe someday one will be able to walk into a dealer and get PHEVs, pickup truck EVs and even decent SUV EVs that aren't approaching 6 figures but we sure aren't here now, and on that his video is spot on.
