Only cars that actively monitor and maintain battery when turned off while at parking are going to make it there. We know Tesla does it, this is why it devour its battery while turned off at parking. If any of the car listed above do not loose charge while parked (not running AC loop to cool off battery) - they are just as toast from overheating as any EV without TBM at all. "Cooling while driving" is not enough to survive there.

I'm fairly sure the Bolt will cool the battery while parked if it gets hot. We get that you like the Soul EV - so do I. Let's just leave it at "there are only a few EVs that will work in hot climates."

I know the Bolt will cool the battery when unplugged / off. The set point is just higher than when it is being driven. So your litmus test of "do not lose charge while parked" must take into account ambient temperature. Tesla is set too aggressive for my taste (likely a result of the different chemistry).

I don't know about the others, but they may have similarly higher set points for cooling. In general, Tesla has the most powerful batteries, but at a cost of being less tolerant to heat. As a result, they have to cool them more aggressively. It's a trade-off that most people are happy to make, but I'm perfectly content with my Bolt's different trade-offs.

Yesterday it finally happened - I saw a Niro BEV in the wild. I've seen a few PHEV Niros before this, but not a single BEV outside of the ones at the dealership (Including the one I test drove). Beats me why sales are so slow, unless the dealerships are still tacking on $5k ADMs as they were when I drove one a few months back. That doesn't seem to be the case, and there doesn't seem like there's a lack of availability, then or now.

It is curious to see nobody talks about Tesla and model 3 as it keeps dropping off the discussed topics. I see it as an emerging trend. Is Tesla is getting long in the tooth? One thing for sure Tesla supporters are acting like EV haters in some cases, not sure why? I thought the common goal is proliferation of EVs, all EVs, not just one kind.

There's been plenty of ...ahem... discussion about Tesla and the model 3 here. Just search if you want to find it. But this is a Leaf forum, not a generic EV forum. Of course, many people here are into EV's, solar, AGW, etc, etc but a lot of folks just want to know more about their Leaf.

I'm sure there is a model 3 sub-forum here and you can post there and I bet you'll get some action.

Speaking as a LEAF owner and critic, and a 100% satisfied Tesla Model 3 owner--
There are around 10 - 20 active people in this forum: two are moderators, two are trumpers, and the remainder go around in circles with each other posting the same opinions about thermally challenged batteries.

It is not Tesla that is getting long in the tooth -- it is this forum. Head over to TMC for a vibrant Tesla discussion.

As for the Korean EV offerings: I typically skip these threads because the cars are produced in minuscule volumes for the compliance market and are simply not interesting.

Saw one at NDEW Steilacoom and the reason you don't see many is rather obvious here. The only thing readily available is the highest trim. The one I saw was $46,000. Very nice but a lot of stuff I wouldn't pay for. It had a sunroof that really reduced backseat head room a lot. I am not tall and it was close for me.
