At Ford’s Michigan Proving Grounds in rural Romeo, Michigan, a quiet revolution in vehicle testing is beginning. Engineers working at the 4,000-acre facility, in collaboration with supplier Autonomous Solutions, have developed a one-of-a-kind system that puts a robot in the driver’s seats of preproduction cars for punishing durability testing....

There seem to be many other stories on this in the press. http://www.engadget.com/2013/06/17/ford-deploys-robot-drivers-to-test-vehicle-durability-video/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; has a video and their press release.

Thanks for that! Here is Ford's video from the Engaget article:

And here is another one from TED 2011, which I found quite impressive:

And finally a research study related to the i3 with lots of autobahn driving (pardon the German):

Thanks for the Google self-driving Prius TED video. I hadn't seen that particular one.

was one of several we found and posted at http://priuschat.com/threads/googles-self-driving-cars-take-ted-attendees-for-a-wild-ride.90792/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; from the same conference. Unfortunately, the 1st video in that post is busted/missing due to Priuschat's software change.

Since we're going kinda OT, was Google's PR video they released last year.
