If you're a registered Democrat you should take steps immediately with your doctor to have an advance directive added to your medical record that under no circumstances should you be administered hydroxychloroquine, sort of like a DNR.

"The evidence was anecdotal!" would make a nice inscription on your tombstone.

When Trump fails, he diverts attention. Sad to see his scam works again.

Trump has failed. Tens of thousands will die because of his lies.

The efficacy of the drug has nothing to do with your political party. The evidence is what it is. The doctors were already aware, and more than capable of evaluating the drug in clinical trials with, or (notably) WITHOUT the Presidential cheerleading. They're more than capable of administering the drug appropriately as the data dictates. If it works, it works, as President Obvious has so brilliantly stated. But in the meantime they're testing and collecting data as they should.

The only thing Trump is trying to accomplish by latching on to this one drug, is self-aggrandizement. If it turns out to be effective he'll sound his barbaric yawps above the rooftops reminding us of what a genius he is, as opposed to all of the "losers" who insisted on a rational stance. If the drug turns out to not be worthwhile, it'll be "oh well, we had to try; at least I wanted to try" -- as if there wasn't already an army of people trying - with or WITHOUT his ignorant ramblings. "...some people would add to it: 'hydroxy'..." Yeah. Our genius.

File under amusement.

I've supported Republican candidates in the past, and as a result get fund raising snail mails.

The one I received yesterday wants to know if cutting spending and taxes is my priority. :?

If cutting budgets like Trump suggested, like for example cutting the CDC's budget as Trump wanted to do, was my priority.

Nothing at all about disaster relief spending.

Clueless. Or just way out of date.

Funny how that works. No one on the planet has EVER lied as much as Teflon Don, but his minions keep pushing his bullshit.

And his followers believe his lies and misinformation, dismiss (e.g. "who cares?", "you're taking him too literally...") or shift the topic (e.g. "what about her emails?", "it's a hoax", "Hunter Biden...").

I used to be a Thatcherite Conservative, so when I came to the States I obviously became a Reagan Republican. Then, over the course of that 8 years, I realized how badly Reagan screwed ordinary people over. I haven't voted R since.

European Conservatives are usually the rough equivalent of so-called Centrist Democrats in the US. The European equivalents of US Republicans are usually racist, nativist and authoritarian.

A friend came over last night to borrow money. I'd left my phone upstairs, so I had no warning when the doorbell rang. I didn't let her in, but I was exposed to the air around her, briefly, when I lifted a bag through the door onto the porch. The Exposure Clock resets yet again...
