For those who hadn't seen these (now old) videos from http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/03/goog ... wild-ride/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YaGJ6nH3 ... r_embedded" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oMdcWHnb ... r_embedded" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... _eVE6KQ4Jg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - you can see the steering wheel for most of this run

There was some more posted recently on them that might interest some on here:
http://spectrum.ieee.org/automaton/robo ... -car-works" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;.

The first video in the article (part 2 of 3) is pretty cool. Part 3 was ok. Haven't watched part 1 yet.

There was an funny statement earlier by Eric Schmidt mentioned at http://www.autoblog.com/2011/09/29/goog ... -than-you/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;:
And then Chairman Schmidt jumps in with this gem: "Our computers drive our cars better than you do when you're drunk. That's our starting point."

That's not a very high bar Mr. Schmidt, but we digress...

No response?

http://www.ted.com/talks/chris_urmson_h ... anguage=en was quite good
Statistically, the least reliable part of the car is ... the driver. Chris Urmson heads up Google's driverless car program, one of several efforts to remove humans from the driver's seat. He talks about where his program is right now, and shares fascinating footage that shows how the car sees the road and makes autonomous decisions about what to do next.
You can also watch it at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tiwVMrTLUWg, where you can use the gear icon to speed up the playback speed, if desired.

The above was way more recent than what's in the OP. This was posted in June 2015.

Here's the data collected by a Google Driverless car that was rear-ended.

No interest? Maybe some folks are more interested in watching some of the videos now given that Tesla's "autopilot" accidents have gotten so much attention now?

Poll: Should Google release their driverless cars now or wait? Currently equal to human accident rate.
