Speed In Reverse

Sat Apr 24, 2010 6:53 pm

OK....so, the Leaf has no transmission and the speed is a result of the power distributed to the electric motor. Therefore, when it is put in reverse, isn't the potential speed 80 mph+ ?

Just thinking...they put an electronic governor on that puppy no? :)

Yes, they put a governor on it. It accelerates much more slowly and is speed limited.

Good. Fortunately I do not have any teenage sons anymore...you KNOW they would want to test THAT! :)

I sure know my reaction times won't sustain that experiment!
